Ridiculous how people show up at funerals knowing they’ll be photographed. Respect or not, it’s just plain dumb.
In Italy these public funerals are non existent so this doesn’t happen.

Maybe they know they'll be photographed.

Here's a random question. Does the Italian population in Montreal speak Italian to each other or French? Or English?

Both I guess. French is the official language in Quebec but not everybody speak French in Montreal. I remember saw guys like Vito Rizzuto, Del Balso or Mucci speaking French.

The old timers like the Cotronis speak French that's for sure. Paolo Violi too but just some words

Just for the record, in Quebec the newspapers or TV shows speak in classic French, but for everyday conversations, Quebecers have their own dialect with a very different accent from the French. What makes the average Frenchman like me difficult to follow a talking

90 meters...not a bad shot if that's true. that's about a football field away. How long was this person was this person up at this spot without being seen is the real impressive question imo..

Not necessarily. Nicolo Rizzuto was killed from a closer distance, but in this regard Andrea Scoppa says that the shooter used a rifle that has no recoil when you shoot and that anyone would have been able to do the shot. I think it's the same here

He had to be sitting there for sometime. He just sitting, hiding out in the open with his sniper on its bi-pod? For my experience (11B (infantrymen) with US Army for 8 years) alot of it has to do with his breathing techniques and his concealment prior to the shot. The shot was probably the easiest part, maybe. That shot is not far, but it's not exactly close if your a regular civilian either. He probably had a laser sight on there for precise distance to target alignment. I wonder if he had a spotter. I mean really the tube (twist rate...) and the stock most argue that is the most important, and that is some valid points. I'm just thinking out loud how experienced this guy who made that shot was and or if I lean he had somebody with him..

I do not think anybody could make a shot from that distance. That's a bit of an exaggeration on his part imo. Idc what optical sight you are using if you do not have controlled breathing your not hitting your target. You may come close...

Huge difference between Nicolo Sr's murder and Del Balso. Nicolo Sr was shot from 20-30ft away from the treeline in his backyard and according to Scoppa the shooter had a laser sight on his rifle.

Del Balso was allegedly shot at 90m but that isn't an unreasonable distance for anyone with some shooting experience. Hunters regularly shoot at targets that exceed 90m (maybe Arcadi took his protégé out lol).

I would like some more details of the shooting as I'm a little skeptical because initial reports had witnesses saying he saw the shooter coming and tried fleeing from him. Was the shooter actually lying in wait perched up somewhere? Did Del Balso exit the gym as the shooter was approaching 90m away so he began firing from there? You can see in some of the photos taken at the scene that a few of the shots missed their mark and hit the building.

A .308 doesn’t kick hard but it’s more than just “no recoil” for sure. Still, anyone could have made that shot on Rizzuto.

As for this shot, much tougher no doubt.

As some have said though things are weird in this case with some of the initial reports saying he ran from the shooter unless he just opened fire and happened to catch him

As a deer Hunter we make many shots over 100 yards. But it’s easier hitting a deer on 4 legs compared to say a head shot on a human from the same distance which would be 100x tougher than the shot on a deer.

Agreed on the Rizzuto shot, being as close as that shooter was that shot was not that hard at all. With a high powered rifle like the .308 is, a shot that close is very easy and hard to miss. Now a shot from 90m aiming at Del Balso’s head would make missing a lot easier and could explain the missed shots and him “running” like they reported early on.
