The Gallo Rebellion

I often read references about the rebellion against Joe Profaci by the Gallo brothers and their crew. What were the reasons behind their coup? Do members of the Profaci family or any other families ever talk about it in wiretaps? Are there any links for primary sources further discussing the matter?

Profaci was not liked bc he was said to be the only boss enforcing a tax on every member for starters. Weekly tribute i belive....

But from what i understand it started out with Larry Gallo (the only original made member) not being made a capo and they were the main hitters and "had a army" of the younger guys

Wouldnt mind going over the first conflict....

Officially started when the Gallos kidnapped like 5 important capos
