LaRocca used to own/run the Pearl Room and 101… think he’s a relative of former local 8 boss Tony Guardino who was caught up in case with John Barbato years ago, makes me wonder if the LaRocca crew is the former Barbato crew?Wiseguy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 15, 2023 4:33 pmHe's another Genovese captain identified by Pennisi. I know it's the wrong thread but do we have a photo of LaRocca? Pennisi said the ones he used in his video weren't him.
Re: [Current] mobster’s homes
Yeah, I came to the same conclusion because of the Guardino connection. Also because Barbato is pushing 90. I think Vincent Esposito is also in that crew.

I'd love to know Esposito's actual role in the family officially...
Re: [Current] mobster’s homes
I've read through documents from that case and there isn't a mention of his rank anywhere. He was giving orders to Arena and Giovinco, described as an influential decision maker and was said to be acting from a position of independence.Browniety86 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 25, 2023 2:49 pmI'd love to know Esposito's actual role in the family officially...
My take on Esposito is he wasn't answering to a captain. My personal opinion is he only answered to the administration hence why he was able to give orders to soldiers which were probably orders passed on directly from the top.

Could he be a solider who is direct with the consigliere?Sort of like Casso was with Furnari when Casso turned down the capo position when Tick got consigliere...Amuso became captain and Casso went direct with Furnari...JohnnyS wrote: ↑Sun Jun 25, 2023 3:11 pmI've read through documents from that case and there isn't a mention of his rank anywhere. Re: [Current] mobster’s homes
Benny Mangano and John Barbato come from his father Vincent Gigante's Greenwich Village crew. A long time member of that crew is Frank Giovinco, who was groomed by Mangano and answered to Barbato. As we know, Giovinco and Esposito have been connected at the hip during their entire criminal careers, including their indictment in 2018.
John Fazio Sr. is another soldier in that crew. Fazio Sr, and his son John Fazio Jr ran UFCW Local 348-S before they were indicted in 2011. Fazio Jr. was closed friends with Vincent Fyfe who, of course, is the grandson of the Chin, nephew of Esposito, and was president of UFCW Local 2D, and considered (with the Fazios) to be affiliated with Barbato. Barbato's driver/bodyguard Raymond Papaleo was also part of Local 2D staff. Local 2D was the union in the 2018 Esposito case.
I don't know what Esposito's rank is or was, or the pecking order, but it seems that crew is the one he's in. And has been pointed out, Barbato was indicted with Anthony "Tony Muscles" Guardino in the Roofers Union Local 8 case in 2004. And, according to Pennisi recently, Guardino is in John LaRocca's crew. Given Barbato's advanced age, it seems LaRocca is now running the crew.
