One thing I've noticed about chicago joints vs nyc are the baked clams. Chicago gives you Tabasco sauce without asking. NYC places look at you like you're crazy lol

L&B has top notch sicilian for sure, in my opinion only place that beats it is Prince Street but since the hipsters caught on to that place the lines are constantly ridiculous. No shot I'm waiting on line 45 mins for pizza!

-Best pizza around bensonhurst
-Best sit down italian restaurant on Arthur Ave

Much appreciated!
Oddly enough Bensonhurst doesn't have any really exceptional pizzerias but J & V or DaVinci both on 18th Ave are best in the neighborhood. If you decide to eat at a restaurant in Bensonhurst I'd go to Ortobello on Bay Parkway.

I'm not a Bronx guy so I won't make any suggestions concerning the Bronx.

Have a nice trip!
Thank you! Would you say those two are better than spumoni gardens?
L&B is great but its NY slices are great. They are know for their Sicilian. It's also not bensonhurst

My personal rec for Arthur Ave is Zero Otto Nove. There is also of course Enzo’s and Patsy’s Rigoletto. Hard to go wrong over there IMO. Madonia Bros, Mike’s Deli, Café al Mercato inside the Arthur Ave Market for old school Sicilian street food like trippa.

Bring a bunch of guys with you and we can make a Chicago Bronx crew and mob up on Arthur Ave.
Yup - Zero Otto Nove is prob the only sit down joint I'd want to eat at up there. Wouldn't thumb my nose at anything else but Zero Otto Nove is the only place to me that's worth the trip up there. Casa De Mozz for heros, and coincidentally, the Enzo's outpost inside of the Arthur Ave Market for pizza. Their square slices are fucking nuts. Not anything like L&B or Rosa's, apples and oranges, but they are insane. I can tell they ferment their dough and it makes a huge difference. Seafood Salad at Mike's Deli in the market too.

Jesus. If I were a millionare I'd move up there in walking distance and sit at the market every day and eat...I'd weigh over 500 lbs if I lived up there. I could happily just pass all my time eating and hanging out within a 3 block radius

How is Dominick’s? I got invited there this weekend and I’ve never been there. What should I expect?

Actually never been, as I almost always go to Zero Otto Nove. Ambiance always looks nice and classic and Dominick’s, real old school place, which I appreciate aesthetically. Let me know how it goes.

Haha enjoy, bro. Tell everyone that you’re from Cicero. If you encounter the right people, you may get some interesting reactions.

Dominick’s is great , there’s no menu and you just tell the waiter what you want. The Baked Clams Appetizer is to die for . Very old school joint, I love Dominick’s!

That’s the kind of info I needed because my wife usually looks at the menu for an hour before she figures out what she wants! I’m going to have to prepare her for this. I’ll definitely get the baked clams we’ll see if they’re better than Don Pepe’s.

Thank you Dante!

From what I understand, in Ragusa.
