Why is there no info on Giovanni Brusca after he was released from prison in 2021? I mean he murdered over 200 people supposedly and collaborated with police and is now a free man. I can’t believe that the Sicilians would let something like this go.

Do you believe he is still living in Sicily in witness protection?

I wonder if we will ever see a current day photo of him. I mean for a Mafioso that high profile it would pretty hard for him to just disappear.

You have to believe that he would possibly go back to a life of crime. I mean he was born into it with his Dad and brothers. It’s pretty much all he’s ever known. You would think like other mafia guys released he would start a crew someplace where there isn’t a heavy Mafia presence.

Whenever one of these guys gets released and everyone thinks they’ve been rehabilitated, I always think of something that was said to me while serving time. I’ll never forget what this guy said to me. He told me “People never really change, they just get better at hiding who they really are” which I feel is such a true statement.

He could very well be in the US in wit sec. He is familiar with the US. He had been in NJ before his collaboration, and has connections in NJ. If he's still in Italy, they would've moved him up North. He wouldn't be in Sicily today. Buscetta was brought to the US in wit sec, so most likely that's where Brusca is.

The mafia over there, especially of his generation, believe in the mafia to their core. They don't feel they need rehabilitation, and nobody thinks they are.

There were Italian fugitives in the US that had been loyal to Brusca, and helped hide him out in Italy. One was Giuseppe Baldinucci, who fled to the US. Italy alerted homeland security to look out for him. He had previously been deported from the US back to Italy, then snuck back in. He was then captured and identified by US authorities, did time for illegal re-entry, and sent again back to Italy.

Under Riina’s orders, Brusca did whatever he was told to do and killed who he was told to kill, without question.
He detonated the car bomb that killed Falcone, yes.
Even though he cooperated, he has stated he felt no remorse for his killings.

Murders in witness protection happen in Italy and Brusca would be the ultimate prize.

I know. It’s laughable. He has no remorse. He’ll go back to making money the only way he knows how. I assume in a few years we’ll hear of him getting busted for some crime ring in some no name city. I know all his families property is San Giuseppe Jato was confiscated and turned into agriculture and a Wine producing facility.

Sadly,a lot of seized assets get back in mafia hands.If they end up at public auction , people are not buying them out from fear , so its bought again by mafia or by people close to them.
