Leonardo Rizzuto Shot in Laval

Haven't seen anything reported that Sollecito has been replaced as co-leader. Other articles are still referring to Sollecito as co-leader with Rizzuto and I've only seen the one report that has said he is no longer considered active. But like I've said in my other posts, I've wondered if Stefano has indeed taken a step back, has his brother Mario taken on some of his responsibilities?

Pietro D'Adamo
Considered by the police to be one of the strong men of the Montreal Mafia, D'Adamo, whose clan is present in the LaSalle sector, is very close to Stefano Sollecito and maintains strong links with traditional Irish organized crime.

D'Adamo's name has been mentioned in recent years as well as in a recent article^ as being a power player/rising star in LaSalle, close to the Irish, and close to Sollecito. Maybe it's possible he has taken on some of the responsibility for Sollecito.

Long story short, I don't know. For the most part I only know what is given to us in these articles. I hope no one mistakes my theories or my thinking out loud as anything factual (like Mario or D'Adamo) as I try to make it clear when I'm offering my own opinions on this topic.

Francesco Del Balso arrested as he was about to leave the country

Back on March 29, Lapresse reported Del Balso was also targeted at the end of January in Laval but unforunantely someone else was shot by mistake but lived. They have now arrested a 36 year old man from Hamilton for the shooting.

I’ve been familiar with this incident since it happened but I never imagined anyone in Paul Volpe’s old neighbourhood would be targeted in a drive-by.

This case of mistaken identity has led to a serious investigation of MS-13 members hired by an (unnamed) organized-crime group. The identity of the actual intended target is either unknown or is being kept mum by York Regional Police (YRP).

So one of the individuals charged with conspiracy to commit murder in the mistaken-identity drive-by shooting this past February 12 in Schomberg, which is in King Township in York Region (immediately north of Toronto), also appears to be the individual who mistakenly shot the 77-year-old man in Vimont (Laval) back on January 29 — the intended victim in this latter incident was apparently Francesco Del Balso.

After the botched attempt in January, Carlos Pena Torrez was later arrested at some point after being located in Hamilton (where he lived), faced charges, was held in custody, and was due in court this past May 10.

Shit has gotten real.

Please bear with me as I’m far behind but how can folks says there are no rats in Montreal? Even Andrea Scoppa mentioned it in his book and that cop was arrested for trying to sell a RCMP list of over 123 rats to the mafia before killing himself after getting caught.

I also don’t think Sollecito is inactive. I think yes he’s had to take a step back because of the cancer but no way to I see him letting go after gaining as much power as he has. I’d say at the least Mario is controlling his interests until he either dies or gets better

I'm reminded of the conflict that broke out between Desjardins and Montagna. Desjardins believed Montagna was behind the attempt on his life, which prompted him to kill Montagna. Then Andrew Scoppa tells Séguin and Thibault that Roger Valiquette was actually the one who arranged the assassination attempt.

Yep that has been the Montreal go to when it comes time to hit someone up there. They have used that tactic a few times to hide who was killing who

Hard to tell whether and where Carlos Pena Torrez is in custody — I’m guessing he’s being detained in Quebec. His hearing in a Laval courthouse is coming up this Thursday, June 8, but I don’t know whether he’ll be making an appearance (in person or via video) or the judge and lawyers will go through procedural matters.

(40 km) north of Toronto's border with Richmond Hill in York Region. Carlos Pena Torrez's matter re: the mistaken-identity murder attempt on Francesco Del Balso is no longer in the Courts of Quebec Hearing Rolls, but I can't tell whether Pena Torrez is being held in custody in Quebec or Ontario.
