American mafia in 2050?

Post by Makaveli »

Where do you see the American mafia in 25 years time? What changes will occur ? How many inductees ? Families ? Conjecture for sure, but can the history and our understanding of the of mob help us create scenarios for the future ?

Italian leadership and capable guys will be few in number and will be old men born between 1960 and 1985. Very few Italians under that age. Actual rackets run by Albanians and whatnot working for old Italians. NY Families half or less the size and influence they are now in terms of manpower/revenue/influence/etc. Ratio of associates to made guys much higher than now. Structure/hierarchy of NY families breaking down and becoming more of a horizontal network than a top-down hierarchy.

I'll certainly still be around on the forums in 2050 (in fact that will be well into my 50th year on the forums) so feel free to break my balls over this prediction if it's completely off. I'll be 70~71 in 2050. :)

No Italians. Just a bunch of Americans with no ties to Italy or anything Italian, yet still claiming they’re Italian. A bunch of American gabagools going around saying, “do you know who I AM?”

This post just reminded me that John Pappa could potentially end up serving more time than Sonny Franzese…
He could end up outliving the five families

The year is 2050. On the Black Hand Forum the grandchildren of two posters, Wiseguy and NickleCity, argue with each other on the 35000th page of the “Buffalo/Ontario Mob Activity” thread if the Buffalo family still exists. Joe Todaro IV tells the media he’s 100% legitimate as his family only sells pizzas and remains the primary sponsor of the Buffalo Bills, whose fans nearly burned Buffalo to the ground in celebration after the team won the 2049 Super Bowl. The 38th Montreal mafia war begins after AI-powered extortion robots go haywire and start doing their own extortions and mob hits. Peter Tuccio is named the new Philadelphia godfather after 88 year old Skinny Joey Merlino passes away. A disheveled 99 year old Michael Franzese sits alone in a rocking chair at a retirement community in Scottsdale and mutters to no one in particular about how he was once involved in gas scams back in the eighties. A moderately sized cult takes control over large swaths of Oregon and uses an image of Nicky Scarfo as their patron saint and pray to “Saint Nicodemo” five times daily. The Bonannos are still a mess.

Nothing would really surprise me. If you told me the mafia would get completely watered down to just 2-3 NYC families + a few crews spread out here and there….I could believe that. If you told me the Calabrians slowly but surely end up being the preeminent mafia force in America, I could believe that too.

Nice topic. My prediction: The Colombo & Lucchese families will be extinct or nearly extinct by then. The other families outside of nyc will be extinct besides maybe the Philly family, I can see them havin a few members left, albeit disorganized. I predict the Gambino, Genovese, & Bonanno families will still be active by 2050, however I think they’ll be less structured & more factionalized. It’ll be VERY interesting to see how LCN evolves in the next 10 years or so.

Therecwill be no more 5 families in NY,maybe Gsmbino and Genovese will rest independent and maybe Luchese,Bonanno and Colombo will merge.
Out NY the other families will be like the DeCavalcantes.
Maybe for survive will try to form a zip crews.
I thonk that the ndrangheta will replace the LCN as force in the underworld.

I read that Pappa was going to be killed, had he remained on the street
