Felix trangese testified he was inducted into the genovese family at a house in Springfield in August 1982. I think he said the whole crew was present and I wouldn't doubt if there was a emissary from NYC bobby manna or fat tony

How do we know about the extremely early ceremony dates for Luciano and Masseria? And who would have been the boss that inducted them?

Also how do we know about the 1933 ceremony with Tieri?

He's says to the wired up lawyer peluso something like he was inducted in 58 before the books were closed and opened in 1974 when they let all the rats in. I almost positive he said 1974 which is always a argument because some say they opened in 76. I could have sweared casso George Barone and fish cafaro all said they got in 74 but I'm leaning more to the first wave in 76. I've been swayed to say 1976 because that guy who runs lcnbios is a fact checker
Cafaro did claim that he was made in 1974, while as I recall, Barone said that he was made in a verbal ceremony in the early 70s but may not have given an exact year. JD put Cafaro as made in ‘76 and Barone in ‘77 based on the other sources that all concur that NYC did not begin inducting new members again until ‘76.

Gambinos

Late 2003 (possibly early 2004)
William "Big Billy" Scotto

Background info, Greg DePalma and Louis Filippelli were attending the wake of a wiseguys father in July 2004. DePalma and Robert Vaccaro were discussing which made guy it was, DePalma stated he was made around 7 or 8 months back and that he was around Daniel Marino. Did some research and found that Billy Scotto's father passed away in July 2004.

Al Trucchio sponsored Vincenzo Frogiero. Frogiero was driven to the ceremony by Louis Mastrangelo. Todd LaBarca who was proposed at the same time as Frogiero was supposed to be made too but they could only induct one and Joseph Corozzo sent word from jail that Frogiero was to be inducted first. This upset Bobby Vernace who felt LaBarca deserved it more as LaBarca had been around longer and had put work in for the Gambinos. Vernace questioned if JoJo Corozzo had lost his marbles. His comment got back to Corozzo who sent a message back to Vernace saying that he still had his marbles.

Also how do we know about the 1933 ceremony with Tieri?
It comes from one of the DeCarlo tapes from 1962. DeCarlo is shooting the shit with Dominick Ciaffone and Louis LaRasso.
Very interesting transcript to read with a lot of players mentioned.

During the course of the conversation Chappy Brescio’s name comes up and Ciaffone and DeCarlo mention that Brescio, Funzi Tieri, Pete DeFeo and Frank Celano were all made by Luciano in a ceremony in « 1935,1932,1933 ».

Among other interesting tidbits from this conversation:

- According to DeCarlo, for some reason Luciano wanted to put a hit on Joey Adonis when the latter got deported and Vito intervened to save Adonis.

- He also mentions that Luciano received $60K ($940K today) from the family at about the time he was to be deported for him to be able to pay his bills and move to Italy.

- Luciano’s end each month from the Vegas skim was originally $2000 then $3000 in the last years of his life ($30K today). According to DeCarlo it was Genovese who made the arrangements for Luciano to get the money.

Gambinos

2004:
Anthony "Tony" Moscatiello

Moscatiello came up in the 90s under Joseph Corozzo and made a name for himself as a trusted associate. By the early 2000s he was around Alphonse Trucchio and was indicted in 2003 alongside Trucchio. He was released from prison in July 2004 and was inducted into the Gambino family following his release. He caught a DUI charge, violated his parole and was jailed again from April to June 2005. Moscatiello was considered the number three man in the Trucchio crew behind Al and Michael Roccaforte. They were often referred to as the triumvirate of “Al, Roc and Tony” Moscatiello was a cocaine abuser like others in the Trucchio crew. He bought cocaine from associate Salvatore Tortorici on a weekly basis.
