Youngstown rat made by Romeo and Mallamo describes his ceremony to the feds
Okay I just now found this... Has this been posted before? It's pretty mind-blowing. Is that a Camorra ceremony?

Very interesting and I think u are right, it is related to the 'Ndrangheta, since in one part it is referred to as "the Calabrese organization".

Interesting - Rather than guess who was actually made and I think I know, why not PM JCB as I'll bet he'll know. After-all Big Dom was his UncleIvan wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 6:29 pm Okay I just now found this... Has this been posted before? It's pretty mind-blowing. Is that a Camorra ceremony?

That meeting he described at LaFatch's house in Akron sounds interesting given that Leo Moceri and Tony Dope were present there to discuss the issue Mike Romeo was having with Tony Mollica. He mentions numerous other "strangers" being present there as well, leads me to wonder who else was there.

Another thing that’s always struck me about the account of this ceremony in Youngstown was the use of the statue of the Madonna. The Virgin is very important in the ‘Ndrangheta, with La Madonna della Montagna (Santa Maria di Polsi) being their patron saint.
The leaders of the Society for decades made pilgrimages to her shrine in Aspromonte, near San Luca. These gatherings were reported by the Carabinieri as far back as 1903. That the importance of the Madonna for ‘Ndranghetisti carried over into the “diaspora” is indicated by that fact that a statue of her was recovered when LE raided an ‘Ndrangheta safe house in Germany, IIRC. Anna Sergi recounted that she had wanted to see a statue of the Madonna di Polsi in a local museum in Australia, but that someone had stolen the statue. The use of the Madonna in Youngstown I believe was not incidental.

We’ve known about this for years…it certainly was indicative of a N’Drangheta ceremony

1. The 1906 murder of Seely Houk in, possibly, Lawrence County, PA -- his body was found in the Mahoning River -- is discussed in, among other places, Nicola Gratteri's La malpianta: conversazione con Antonio Nicaso and in Quando la 'ndrangheta scoprì l'America. 1880-1956. Da Santo Stefano d'Aspromonte a New York, una storia di affari, crimini e politica, the book Nicaso co-authored with Maria Barillà and Vittorio Amaddeo. Suspicion immediately fell on the Italian population in nearby Hillsville, OH.
In the first book, mention is made of how an employee of the Pinkerton National Detective Agency was able to not only ingratiate himself with members of Mano Nera (the Black Hand) / picciotteria in Ohio but also to get himself initiated. According to the book, the re-creation of the ceremony by the Pinkerton agent apparently matches the ceremony conducted by the 'ndrangheta today.
2. The monthly dues mentioned in the Black Vault document to which Ivan linked is reminiscent of the monthly dues that were brought up by RCMP Insp. Dino Chiarot during the 1982 trial in Hamilton of Antonio Luppino, John Luppino -- both sons of Giacomo -- and Gerry Fumo (possibly related to the Luppinos). These dues are mentioned in 'ndrangheta meetings recorded by the police in Ontario and Quebec.

"It's" now banned, but I'm sure he'll keep on trying to cause problems. Anyways, regarding the thread, this was mentioned way back in the early 2000s in David Critchley's book.
