Nick "Skins" Stefanelli I think you're referring to. Not sure if his son died or killed himself, but Nick "Skins" was cooperating and he flipped after flipping, killed a former business partner, and killed himself after - I think he took a purposeful overdose of oxy or dope (?) - it was discussed ad nauseum on old RD forum since one of the more well known posters...a guy made by Funzi himself in 81...knew this Skins guy. IIRC he posted about it before it hit the news
Stefanelli sr was cooperating for a light sentence to his son,they was both caught in a drug deal and Nicky Skin first kill Joseph Rossi a CI that made a tip on the drug deal and after kill himself. At least he did what he did for his son.

I want to say Frank Schweihs was in jail with him at the time but can't remember if that's correct.

In his report about the autopsy for Giuseppe De Vito, the Quebec coroner who led the examination indicated that De Vito probably died of cyanide poisoning. The report does not indicate whether De Vito intentionally and knowingly ingested cyanide.
The Sûreté du Québec (provincial police force) investigators looking into De Vito's death lean toward the theory that De Vito did not intentionally and knowingly ingest cyanide; that he was murdered instead. De Vito's lawyer at the time, as well as some sources and friends of De Vito's who spoke to Le Journal de Montréal at some point between the July 8, 2015 death and the cause-of-death bombshell articles published by the paper 4 months later in November of that year, do not think suicide was at play here.
In the 42 years preceding De Vito's death, there have been only 4 cases in Quebec prisons of inmates dying of cyanide poisoning. All 4 instances were suicides.
Chicago member Frank LaGalbo killed himself. Bompensiero was told by Balistrieri during a Milwaukee visit that LaGalbo was sick and dying so that may have been the motivation.
