What would an administration of Allie Boy as boss and Wild Bill as underboss have been like, has Allie not got paranoid and clipped Bill?
If he didn't kill Cutolo and get arrested, Allie probably would have followed through with the plot to murder Ralph Lombardo and gone down for that. I personally don't think Allie was as smart as the media made him out to be. He did a terrible job at insulating himself from the murders he ordered and didn't need much convincing to whack people, despite all the LE heat in the late '90s.
I mean wasnt the lure to get Cutolo to Little Dino's house a supposed meeting with Allie...that in and of itself ties Allie Boy to that hit when someone inevitably flips...

He beat a case from behind bars if I remember correctly. It was in relation to the 3rd Colombo War.He also did 1 year in college.
He did seem a little ruthless but I believe this may have been because his father was most likely his mentor.Allie Boy must have took that page from his father
He beat the case and he indeed spent a lot of time working on his own legal case and aiding his defense team. However, the charges against him in the 1993 case were weak; Allie was behind bars for the entire conflict and there was no direct evidence from any witnesses that he ordered any hits during the war. I am not too familiar with the trial itself but I know that the cooperating witnesses like Carmine Sessa and Larry Mazza never actually met Allie or could directly link him to the war.

Allie's next arrest came when the FBI raided his boat in Florida - ironically named 'Not Guilty' - and found a loaded handgun. Real clever Allie. Then, he gets Cutolo whacked. Cutolo was last seen en route to a meeting with Persico. The meeting was in Cutolo's electronic organizer. Again, not very clever on Allie's part. Not to mention phone records between Allie and Bill shortly before Bill's disappearance. Then, Allie and Jackie DeRoss start visiting Cutolo's widow and searching for loansharking records & cash in her house. All the while Cutolo's son is on the street wearing a wire against DeRoss to avenge his dad.

Then, the FBI searches Allie's house and finds incriminating loansharking records. If I recall correctly, there was even a membership list, or proposed membership list, or something along those lines also discovered. Not very forward-thinking of Allie.

From what I have read about Allie it seems he let his ego get the best of him. It seemed he felt like he was untouchable to the government, probably riding high on his 1993 acquittal. When he murdered Cutolo, he didn't seem to consider that everyone and their aunt knew the order came from him.

EDIT: Also, I don't know if this is a strike against Allie's intelligence or ability as a boss, but installing Ralph DeLeo as street boss to throw off law enforcement was an absolute failure.
But but Larry Mazza only testified to the FBI corruption🤣🤣🤣...my ass

You have made great points, i agree
The hit on Cutolo was a mess…
They mentioned how he said “He can’t take what’s not his” Clearly he was the boss only because of his father

DeRoss is at the medical center in Devens. I'm surprised he hasn't asked for a compassionate release. He's what 85, now?

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Yes exactly. Like I said, the scheduled meeting with Allie was in Cutolo's electronic organizer. I believe even his wife knew about the upcoming meeting.

You get called to a meeting, and it's your best friend that does it.

Do you know how many times I've been on the other end of that line?

About 35 of those 69 years spent in the can. He might beat his father’s record when he finally dies.
