Makes you wonder how many guys just voluntarily walked away from the family's. Ray Jr in New England I've read was shelved or retired he's been out since 99 he was only like 55 when he retired and a Springfield guy Gaetano Milano whose been out like 10yrs but did like 23 yrs in prison and was a preacher. I sure there's dozens of others who did along time or even 5 yrs and said I'm alset with this shit.

Someone testified about this exact thing. Was it James Tartaglione who testified in court that he was still a member but technically on the shelf because he's a rat?
I'm sure one of the Bonanno experts on here knows what I'm referring to.

Once you rat your kicked out the family. Your membership is revoked. You can be taken off the shelf and brought back fully in. I think that's the quickest answer. A rat would never be welcomed back. Or michael franzese would probably be welcomed back. He's the one guy who swears he never rated and walked away when in fact he's kicked out.
