They were both killed for not pleading out. But I don't think they were close at all. DiGilio was from Bayonne and Ricci's is from Newark. Also they ran 2 different union localsBrowniety86 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 11, 2023 4:47 pm Wasn't Ricci close to Johnny DiGilio and essentially got hit for the same fucking thing, but taking the global plea deal?

If this is legitimately something they’re considering charging you’d have to think they got a new cooperator.

I'm thinking of someone else then. I thought DiGilio had a protege in the Longshoremen's who rose to prominence later on...thought it was Ricci but maybe notRocco wrote: ↑Fri Jan 13, 2023 7:51 amThey were both killed for not pleading out. According to the article, Coppola sat down with the FBI debating flipping before his 2009 trial but ultimately decided against it. Was this something that was known?

I believe he was playing with the FBI to get his wife a good deal..and when he did then he stopped talking to the feds.

Didn't Coppola get a major win at trial? I think it was a not guilty for the murder of Ricci, maybe. But the feds ended up sticking it to him anyways.

I haven't read the article so this might already have been mentioned, thought worth posting -
"Rizzo was intercepted on a wiretap talking to his father in February about the gun used to kill Ricci, and also mentioned that Vincent (Sonny) Coppola knew where the murder weapon was located."
