Sabella was on a panel under Cammarano too along with John Zancocchio (prior to his promotion to consigliere).

There was a panel under Cammarano? I was unaware.

Contello is an interesting figure. Do we have any more info on his history etc?

It seems by late 2015/ early 2016 the Bonanno admin on the street was Cammarano (acting boss & official underboss) and Rabito (consigliere), with Sabella and Zancocchio assisting as captains on a panel. When Lovaglio was shelved in early 2016, he was told by being summoned to a meeting with the panel (Sabella and Zancocchio). Sometime after Lovaglio's shelving Zancocchio is upped to consigliere and starts running the street for Cammarano (which I would assume to mean the panel was disbanded).

Lovaglio said that Rabito retained the rank of consigliere "in title" while Zancocchio was elected to "the position" but it's unclear if he's meaning official and acting or something else. He said Zancocchio was upped because Rabito was getting too old to do the job, but John Pennisi has said he learned that Rabito was a Mancuso loyalist during the split, so that may have been a factor in Zancocchio being upped.

Contello was acting captain of the Joe Chilli crew in the mid-2000s after Jerry Chilli went to jail, but by 2015 both Jerry Chilli and Contello are listed as official captains. The Bonannos had a habit of transfering guys acting captains from one crew to official of another or chopping up and merging crews during that period, so it seems something like that happened with Contello and Chilli. Either they split the Chilli crew between the two of them or Contello was put in charge of another decina.

I wonder if this rule was instated whenever Perna went to the Brooklyn/Staten Island crew, I'm pretty sure the Perna brothers were in the same NJ crew prior.

Related to the Bonanno family: I don't have any official indication yet but I'm following a good lead.

I would like to know more about the Pipitone brothers, Badalamenti and Balsamo, seems like they could be all related. Is there a way to know who their parents are and where they come from? I am getting to think they all come from Carini somehow

Interesting to see if you get anything solid. I had a look into Badalamenti and while I can't be certain I think it's possible his family (at least on his father's side) is from the metropolitan Palermo area so you might be along the right lines. I'll explain my working for this and why it might not be 100% correct.

Cross-referencing ages that have been published in articles with the current age listed on the BOP locator, we can determine that Badalamenti was born in 1958. We know Badalamenti has lived in Bensonhurst, and the US Index to Public Records lists a Vincent Badalamenti Jr born May 1958 with addresses on New Utrecht Avenue and Bertram Avenue. If we assume that he's the same guy as our Badalamenti, we can therefore assume that his father was a Vincent Badalamenti Sr. I found an obituary from 2007 for a Vincent A Badalamenti who also had a son Vincent. That's all I could find so I did some digging down that rabbit hole but it is important to note if I've got the wrong guy in either of those previous steps then we can discount the rest of my research.

Vincent A Badalamenti was born Feb 9, 1919, to Charles (Calogero) Badalamenti and Sarah (Serafina) Bozzachiello. Naturalization records show Calogero Badalamenti was born Nov 2, 1885, in Palermo.

Could there have been/be two Luke NJ crews? Their NJ crew has always been massive, wouldnt surprise if it was broken in two.

The Pipitones are from Carini and have relatives in Torretta.

Anthony could be related to Antonino Pipitone, boss of Carini who flipped in recent years.

Was told he hung around guys from the old Gambino Conte crew.

they can't be close relatives of Angelo Antonino Pipitone and his son who flipped some years ago. That Pipitone family branch starting from 800s is having some Spatola-Pipitone marriages anyway and I can see that a member of Pipitone crew is a Joe Spatola. I know of a Pipitone coming from that branch who is from Carini, was close to Calì and was attentioned by FBI but nothing emerged on him.
