Appeal in the Kevin McCormack Murder in Boston

Post by JCB1977 »

This article gives some good intel on William "Billy the Angel" Angelesco and his crew (Gene Giangrande, Anthony Barry & Brian Cahill) who were convicted of murder charges. They say Billy pulled the trigger per state police informant.

That crew was the last of the real killers. I don't think that there's been a 'hit' since Patsy Squillante in 2004. Unless you believe that the Nappy Andrade hit was related to Italian OC.

Is Giangrande still operating? He was under Billy so I wonder what his status is within the Crime family?

The Napoleon Andrade hit was most recent. He got hit not surely after it was found he robbed a Sicilian guy from the Gambino named Nicolia Melia out of Stamford ct. Andrade was hit in front of the halfway house Eddie lato was staying in. It's speculation at this point but it's reasonable to assume

Billy was released early this year and is up in Maine, probably still on supervision...Do you know if Angelesco's status is still active or have they turned their backs on him?

Nick Melia was my grandmother's cousin...had a few holidays at his home in Stamford...he passed away in May of 2021

Was Nicky Melia close with Tommy DeBrizzi or Tony the Genius?

That's an interesting bit of information. What about his son Phil, is he still around? I lived in next county over from them. When his house got broken into by Andrade and the other guy it was on the front of page of a few papers here.

I do not know...Never once had I discussed anything remotely close to his gambling/loansharking business. His house was like a fortress in Stamford, he must have had $250k just in the wall around his property.

Philip owns a heating and plumbing company in Stamford. I remember when that happened. I live in the Northeast and we always went to his house for Easter...which got put on hold while he was locked up. Nick used to come to Youngstown quite a bit while I was growing up, he stayed with my grandma's brother. All of them born in Cirella, Reggio Calabria. Nick's brother Vince was "big" in Montreal and over in Italy.

Didn't Billy have a commercial cleaning company or something like that in the past?
