Re: San Diego Present Day
Yes he was. He was a Chicago Outfit associate that moved out there. He was actually Bompensiero’s driver at one time which he probably got that position through the Outfit. Bompensiero was close with the Outfit and very well respected by them until it was revealed he was an informant. Petti and Spilotro helped set up the murder.davidf1989 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 22, 2022 1:19 amWasn't Chris Petti an associate of Bompensiero and Spilotro?furiofromnaples wrote: ↑Mon Nov 21, 2022 7:09 amhttps://groups.google.com/g/alt.obituar ... vIys?pli=1

Re: San Diego Present Day
Not exactly present day, but here's something close enough.
Joseph E. Matranga was a Detroit caporegime based in San Diego recognized by the feds. He was identified as a captain as early as 1987, and again in a late 1990's Detroit News articles discussing the big Detroit LCN "GameTax" RICO trial. He passed away somewhat recently in 2020. He owned a number of bars and clubs in the SD area.
Of course we can speculate on his level of activity/involvement. However, historically we know SD to have strong Detroit LCN ties. Joe E. Matranga was married to a daughter of long-time Detroit Consigliere, chair of the Ruling Council and international heroin kingpin Papa John Priziola. Matragna was indicted in 1986 on extortion/racketeering charges with brother-in-law Detroit LCN Consigliere Big Mike Polizzi (also married to a Priziola daughter).
Further speculation on any level of activity in recent history - there was a SD City Council bribery scandal "Strippergate" in the 2000's involving two names (that I can remember) that were connected potentially to Detroit LCN: Michael Galardi (strip club owner), and John D’Intino, manager of Galardi's club in SD area.

How do you connect Mike Galardi to Detroit? His dad Jack who was the real owner of all the clubs and was never indicted. He was born in Colorado. I also believe Mike was adopted son. Jack got into the business when he took over Crazy Horse in Las Vegas when that owner was killed. I believe that owner was tied to the Bonannos??DoubleZ wrote: ↑Tue Nov 22, 2022 9:21 am Not exactly present day, but here's something close enough.

Like I said, only speculation. Galardi was connected to the larger city council bribery scheme to allow physical touch at strip clubs. There is a scenario where he could be a front man for general LCN strip-club interests/efforts in the area (for Bonanno, Detroit etc.). Also, note Matranga's decades-long livelihood, and where it could intersect with Galardi's.Patrickgold wrote: ↑Tue Nov 22, 2022 10:20 amHow do you connect Mike Galardi to Detroit? Galardi and D'Intino were listed as possible Detroit LCN associates in a chart from the old Real-Deal forum days during a time when Stippergate was a bit more fresh. D'Intino was picked-up on a wire worn by an FBI informant investigating Strippergate.
