Does this make sense:

1950s-64 : Mogavero is acting capo for Pellegrino

1964: Vincenzo 'Jimmy Alto' Altomari dies. Mogavero takes over his crew

I couldn't find any info for Altomari. Also what's even more confusing is that Pietro Dolce may have been a capo and we don't know what happened to his crew. Your timeline does make sense, but who took over for Pellegrino? If Angelina then who took over for Carfagno?

Could Thomas Contaldo and Joseph Schipani have been in the Lanza crew?

Alfonso Marzano may have been in the DeFeo crew. He and Lorenzo Brescio were relatives and associated with each other. Marzano also held interests in Brescio's company. Brescio is very likely to be in DeFeo's crew so I wonder if Marzano was as well.

Carmine Taglialatela's info is sometimes imperfect but he believed in the late 1950s a crew was split between Toddo DelDuca, Pete Dolce, and Mike Miranda:

At least DelDuca and Miranda should have already been captains but maybe another decina was broken up and distributed among these three crews, or Taglialatela was confused/mistaken.

Here’s a scenario:

1956: Joe Adonis -> Jimmy Alo

1959: Anthony Carfano -> Jimmy Angelina

~1950s-64: Mogavero is acting capo for Pellegrino

1964: Vincenzo Altomari -> Rosario Mogavero

~1964-75: Nick Rattenni is acting capo for Pellegrino

1975: Rocco Pellegrino -> Nick Rattenni

Edward 'Eddie Buff' Lanzieri's brother, Salvatore, was under Sal Celambrino as well.

In addition to Toddo DelDuca and Pete Dolce splitting from the Miranda crew, here are some others:

Image

Image

Anthony Carillo, Miranda’s former driver, isn’t mentioned but also came out of this group

According to MM charts, the Springfield crew had ties to Miranda with his brother Antonio being a pioneer in that group

——————

Seeing as none of the information is contradictory, it’s possible that all these sources were right.

To sum it up, these are the crews that likely were part of Miranda’s faction:

- Anthony Carillo
- Frank Celano
- Frank Tieri
- Generoso Del Duca
- Peter DeFeo
- Peter Dolce
- Salvatore Celembrino
- Salvatore Cufari - ?

One of the most annoying parts is we don't know who got who after the Miranda groups split off. Celambrino's crew only has two people, but I'm wondering if Joseph 'Joe Shep' Schipani was under him.

Possible Member in DeFeo Crew:

Nunzio 'Nicky' Russo [b1929]

Reasons:

-Described as a favorite of DeFeo
-Operated out of the Manhattan area where DeFeo's crew was based out of
-Trusted by DeFeo to handle one of DeFeo's large bookmaking operations.

Listed as a soldier in Bill Feather charts, but I haven't found anything confirming his membership.

Smurra was under Frasca, his brother William probably was too.

Tony Ricci was under Alo

Salvatore Carillo (was he a soldier?) was probably under Tony Carillo

Buster Ardito may have been in the Celano crew

Salvatore Lanzieri was under Celembrino

Joe Schipani lived in Brooklyn and was close to Toddo Marino and other Brooklyn guys, wouldn't it make more sense if he was in the Lanza crew, with Marino and others, instead of the 116th St. Crew? Joe Lanza maybe under his brother Harry?

Frank Russo may have been under Harry Lanza or DelDuca.

There's a guy called Fred who shows up on the DeCarlo tapes and talks about how he was made in 1916 or 1917. Do we know who he is (or if he was a member of another family)?

Someone mentioned that it was Alfred "Pogey" Toriello. I forgot who posted it.

I think that Schipani and Toddo Marino were in the old Adonis crew. They could have been with Jimmy Angelina by ‘63.
