A funny story from the past

I know most don't care to much about KC, but here is a funny story I think you might enjoy and I can tell without anyone getting in trouble. Those involved are either dead or no longer involved and beside the statutes has expired. Okay hope you enjoy it, this would have been either 91 or 92 I am not completely sure. Domonic Scola has somehow come across a truckload of Christmas trees and was selling they in the parking lot next to their liquor store. He had hired this old drunk to help him and would pay him if he came to work sober and stayed that way, this was a few weeks before Christmas. One Saturday I was hanging at one of the spots with Chuckie Ponti. Chuckie was on record with Paul Scola. Anyway, the phone rings, Chuck answers and I hear him say I was there with him. It was Dom and he told us to grab the van and come down to the lot and help him. We arrive and he tells us to follow him and we come around the corner and the drunk is laid out, blood all over his head, Dom said he came to work drunk and got mouthy, so he hit him with a piece of pipe. The looked dead, Dom told us to take the drunk and dumb him. So we put him in the van and drive him out to Basor Kansas which was just woods back then but is by the Nascar track. We drop him beside the road and take off. A couple days before Christmas Chuckie and I were down at the lot shooting the shit with Dom and we look up and walking toward us was the drunk with a big bandage on his head. He comes and apologizing for missing work and said he doesn't know what happened by the Police found him by the road and took him to the hospital and he had a skull fracture, concussion and no memory up what happened. Chuckie and I looked at each other and left swearing we had been visited by a ghost.
