I really don’t think that Paul Lombardino was a Genovese member. This is likely a mistake dating from the Valachi charts.
I believe there were two Paul Lombardinos, one being the Colombo NJ member who was the nephew of Salvatore, then another one who was w/ the Genovese. I don't know the specifics but it was discussed many years ago. Not sure if the Genovese one was related or not.
That’s really interesting, I hadn’t heard of a 2nd Paul.

This is the one who was with the Colombo family:

Looking into Paul Mario Lombardino, he was born 2/20/1912 in Palermo, Sicily which alot of records say. Looking into it, there is a Paolo Lombardino born in 1912, Castelvetrano, last destination Gibellina, whose father was Giuseppe, final destination Newark, NJ.

The Gibellina one is the Colombo member. He's also the one in the FBN book.

There was a 1983 LE list that had the Genovese one born in 1922 and living in East Orange. Zero clue about him or whether that's accurate.

I'm not seeing anyone with that name matching the DOB. There's a Paul A. born 9/18/1922, other Paul's in 1921 and 1923.

Just noticed the FBN book has the Colombo one listed as 2/20/12. I'm thinking the 1983 list erroneously included him as Genovese like on the Valachi chart and accidentally changed a number in his DOB to 2/20/22. I believe there are other mistakes on that list.

I'm wondering if the Genovese one even existed and the Colombo one was just carried over accidentally on the 1983 Genovese list. Is there any other evidence a Genovese member named Paul Lombardino existed?

Good question. MMCharts had one listed as Lombardino-Paul 1912-83 P.LaPlaca[M] but we know he made mistakes too (as I undoubtably will have when all is said and done with these charts. Although there were people I looked up in the Gens that I forgot about and looked up again later and found I reached the exact same findings which gives me a vote of confidance.) But still, these are all names to me and it's good we have people more knowledgeable about this era and family like JK, Chin, and Joel who I'd be lost without.

Hmm, Joel posted the obit for the Colombo one dying in 1998, so he was 1912-1998. The FBN book says the Colombo one's mother married a LaPlaca since her husband died in Sicily.

Looks to me like Bill F got the wrong guy, as the LaPlaca-related one was the Colombo member 1912-1998.

Haha. Maybe it was the FBN who confused the two guys, as they were prone to mistakes too and these different listings each seem to have confused different parts of their backgrounds.

Looking at the obit Joel posted the Colombo member should have been born in 1914, actually, so I missed that.

I'm only making it worse so I'm opting out. I think you've narrowed it down.

Robert Tarantino is said to be a member. On MM he's listed as Tarantino-Robert
1910-67 P.LaPlaca[M]. I found the guy. (MM could have found this same guy)

Spouse Angelina "Angela" LaPlaca
Father Giuseppe "Joseph" Tarantino
Mother Antonia "Antoinette" "Anna" D'Alia
Children Robert
Birth 12 Oct 1910 New York City, New York, USA
Death 11 Mar 1967 Passaic, Passaic, New Jersey, USA

But the FBI Deceased lists a
B. 6/3/1910
TARANTINO ALBERT ALFRED D. 4/1981 LCN

Does anyone have any more info on this Tarantino?

You help, I was wondering if the FBI confused the Lombardinos as well. The FBI deceased list does get things wrong.

So let’s clear this up. From what I can tell there were 2 people named Paul Lombardino:

———-

1) Paul Lombardino — 1904-98 — Colombo

I posted his obituary; his personal information was posted.

———-

2) Paul Mario Lombardino — 1912-83 — possible Genovese

- Based of Sam Accardi’s phone logs, his mother was Grace LaPlaca (https://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.htm ... elPageId=3)

- This was Paul’s info: https://www.ancestry.ca/discoveryui-con ... 44346:2442

- This was Grace LaPlaca’s info: https://www.ancestry.ca/discoveryui-con ... 44846:2442

- This is his info from the 1915 census. He lived with his mother Grace. They lived next to Andrew Lombardino and family. (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:QV9Q-H3ZL)

——————

It’s clear that there were 2 different, probably related, guys named Paul Lombardino.

I’d be surprised if Paul Mario was actually a Genovese member rather than a Colombo like the rest of the Lombardinos.

I can’t tell if/how he’s related to the other Lombardinos.

There were several Joseph Tedeschi's born in 1912. One died in 1998 and another in 2012. Do we have a source for the the Gen member with that name died? MM has it at 1998 but I'm not sure.
