I haven't found anything saying if Angelo Vinci was made or not, but here's something interesting about him.

He was an usher at Joe Paterno's sister's wedding:

In this doc Angelo Vinci is named as a 'button man' for Frank Perrone.

It's also really interesting how it mentions that the books were open for six weeks in 1965.

Nice find!

He was mentioned earlier in this thread but I don’t think a consensus was established on whether or not he was made.

I still think he was a member

Here are the guys I have for Perrone and Paterno in 1960:

8. Joseph ‘Joe’ Paterno (37y) [NJ]

Soldiers:
Joseph ‘Demus’ Covello (36y)
William ‘Willie’ Malanga (51y)
Michael ‘Mike’ Giacalone (36y)
James Peter ‘Jimmy Higgins’ Palmieri (44y)
Michael ‘Mike Juliano’ Giuliano (43y)
Anthony ‘Little C’ Carminanti (48y)
Peter ‘Pete’ Sorce (56y)

9. Frank Perrone (51y)

Soldiers
Angelo Vinci (37y)
William ‘Big Willie’ Amendolace (42y)
Anthony ‘Tony’ Accardi (53y)
Anthony ‘Tony’ Scomo (55y)
Michael ‘Skinny Mike’ Mandaglio (40y)
Frank ‘Chice’ Corsi (44y)
Joseph Insabella (42y)

I've seen Amendolace listed in the Lombardozzi crew, not sure.

The members for the Paterno crew come from this file: https://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.htm ... o_vinci%22

The members for the Perrone crew mainly come from this file: https://www.maryferrell.org/showDoc.htm ... arch=chice

Here's some interesting info regarding the Ferrara crew, lead by Peter Joseph 'Petey Pump' Ferrara

-> https://archive.org/details/GregoryScar ... er+ferrara

-> States that Alfredo Santantonio was under Ferrara. This was in August 1962

-> Vincent 'Bozey / Boozy' DeCicco, father of one-time Gambino Underboss Frank DeCicco, was a button under Ferrara

-> REDACTED described as familiar with Greg Scarpa for many years was under Peter Ferrara. REDACTED was formerly involved in the narcotics business and made a lot of money in that trade. (appx 7 letters redacted)

Other members of the Ferrara crew during the early 60s included John Rizzo Sr. and Anthony Rizzo. James Failla and Salvatore Aurello may have been under him. I wonder if the REDACTED may have been John Allu or Mike Bove? (just based off the length of name)

Joseph “Joe Rogers/Hoboken Joe” Stassi may not have been a Gambino member.

Here’s some other interesting info on him:

—————

Stassi seems to be all over. He was listed as a Genovese/Gambino member but also had longstanding ties to the DeCavalcante group.

Konigsberg seemed to know him well. However, he also claimed that Stassi had planned on mounting an assault on a prison armed with a flame thrower and a rocket launcher. He repeatedly emphasized that Stassi was the most dangerous man on earth.

I've never been able to pin down exactly who he belonged to.

DeCarlo said the only city in New Jersey that was closed to other Families was Elizabeth under the DeCavalcantes but Stassi lived there for many years before he left the country and was a major financial backer in the DeCavalcante gambling operations in Elizabeth. Sam said a portion of the money was to be given to Stassi's wife and the widows of Nick Delmore and Phil Amari. No indications he was a DeCavalcante but he was apparently a very rare member of another Family who lived and operated there.

His father's family was from Montemaggiore Belsito on the eastern side of Palermo province which doesn't help much with NYC/NJ patterns. Doesn't help either that he invested in foreign casinos with high-ranking members of a bunch of Families and most of the coverage of him is through the lens of pre-1960s "syndicate man" hype based on his relationships to non-Italians. That stuff's interesting but doesn't help place him organizationally.

Either way he's a good example of someone who is "just" a soldier but wealthier and more well-connected than a lot of bosses. He has the markings of a Genovese member and they represented the DeCavalcantes at the time but I really don't know. He was outside the US when the FBI really started getting quality info which makes it more difficult.

The Gams list stands at 338 names. Taking out those listed as "Suspected" it drops to 303 members. It's improbable that we have all the Gambinos members at the time but I suspect we have probably 90% of 1963. For New York as a whole, I'd guess or estimate that the likelihood of unknowns/sleepers is probably less than 50-60. Not bad.

If there's enough "Unknown Family Affiliated" members, could warrant a 6th NY chart.

Here's the members list alphabetically-

(Note, some of these names are deceased. I included them if they died within the last 5 years or were former captain/admins. I should likely put them in a deceased members section or maybe take them off as I didn't do this for the other Families.)

Yes, he was. He was under Antonio Paterno before being put with Frank Perrone according to the document link shared.

Frank Corsi was similarly mentioned but I haven’t seen any other sources confirming him.
