John Bologna 302 notes
I'll post the documents themselves in the FBI section. They're not comprehensive and some of them aren't completely in order, but there's a lot more there than what I included here. There's particularly some extra interesting tidbits about construction and the Albanians.
17 November 1996:
- Anthony Ciccone has taken over from James Failla’s captain spot on 86th Street in Brooklyn
- Joseph Gambino has taken over ‘Little Tony’s’ (Carminati?) spot in New Jersey
- Gambino is ‘head captain’ out of Connecticut with Louis Ricco and Anthony Megale
- Michael DiLeonardo has taken over for Daniel Marino in Brooklyn
- Vincent Carrao has taken over his father’s spot
- Craig DePalma has taken over for his father
- All four crews are gathering strength to knock down John Gotti Jr because he is considered trouble and not smart enough to perform his job
11 February 2000:
- Pasquale Parrello, a captain, has Robert Milano take money to Dominick Cirillo every day
- Milano meets Cirillo on the upper West Side of Manhattan around 116th Street
9 July 2001:
- Jason Halpern of Halpern Construction has been with Gambino member Edward Garafola for about three years after working on a construction site in Staten Island
- Halpern is known to jump between different crews and families
- Guy Balso and Joseph Dente Jr brought Halpern to Parrello
- Parrello controls most of the construction in Westchester County
- Balso is the go between for Parrello with most contractors
- Arnold Squitieri has been made the new underboss of the Gambino family
- The Gambinos ‘chased’ Joseph Gambino out
8 April 2002:
- Peter Gotti is the acting boss, Squitieri is the underboss, Joseph Corozzo is consigliere, and Alphonse Sisca, Aniello Mancuso, and Gennaro Mancuso are captains
- The Mancuso brothers have been around for a while and are currently not speaking to each other
- Squitieri was backing the Albanians with Megale in the Bronx
- Sisca is with Squitieri every day in the Bronx and Harlem
- Attorney Louis Cherico acts as a go-between for Liborio Bellomo and Mario Gigante
- Cherico frequently meets with Bellomo in MDC Brooklyn
- Angelo DiPietro works for Megale and Nick Malia and brings money to Albanian Nardino Colotti at Port’o Fino’s in City Island
- The Albanians tried to shake down Gambino restaurant Per Voi but it was resolved at a sit down
- The Albanians tried to get Nicholas LaSorsa pushed out at a sit down at LaSorsa Buick
- Craig and Greg DePalma would never cooperate with the government and Craig would not consider cooperating against DiLeonardo in the grand jury investigation in Atlanta
- LaSorsa has taken over from Greg DePalma and reports directly to Squitieri
2 September 2002:
- All beefs in Connecticut and the Bronx will be settled by Megale, LaSorsa, Blaise Corozzo, Joseph Corozzo, and Sisca
- They will travel to keep the peace
25 November 2002:
- Squitieri is the new boss of the Gambino family, Sisca is the underboss, and Corozzo remains the consigliere
- Squitieri’s cousin Christopher Sucarato is proposed for membership
- Louis Filippelli has taken over all construction business for the Gambino family
- Matthew Ianniello is out of retirement and trying to ‘get back where he was’
28 December 2002:

- Adolfo Bruno is out and answers to Ardito
- Ardito travels everywhere with an older lawyer friend
- Pasquale DeLuca has been knocked down from his position
- Eugene O’Nofrio will not be inducted because of his drug problem
- O’Nofrio was proposed by Matthew Ianniello
- Tony Volpe, proposed by Mario Gigante, will also not be inducted because he is considered too old
- The Genovese family has a new way of getting rid of people they don’t want
- They promote them, believing they will draw law enforcement attention to themselves
- This is easier than killing them
30 June 2003:
- Squitieri has stepped down as boss of the Gambino family due to health reasons
- Sisca is now acting boss and Megale is acting underboss
20 July 2003:
- The Gambino family made two new captains, Vincent Fiori and Joseph Corozzo’s son Nicholas Corozzo
15 August 2003:
- Megale is the official underboss of the Gambino family, Sisca is the acting boss, and Squitieri is the ‘actual boss’
- Megale is responsible for dealing with the Albanians; Sisca and Squitieri will not deal with them
30 September 2003:
- The ‘Harlem crew’ of the Genovese family, run by Pasquale DeLuca, asked Bologna to travel to Springfield to be seen with the ‘Genovese boss[es] there’
- Bologna is a Gambino associate but is an old friend of the Harlem crew
- Bologna’s visit to Massachusetts was to show the close ties between Springfield and New York and the strength of the ‘present’ bosses because of these ties

- Bologna met with Anthony Delevo, Adolfo Bruno, and Anthony LNU (probably Arillotta), a ‘young person […] who is not “made”, but is very visible there’
- Bruno was made boss in Springfield last November
- There are only six inducted members in the Springfield area

- All of the Bronx captains meet there and they believe they are under surveillance
- Lawrence Dentico is ‘a boss’ with the Genovese family in New Jersey
- Dentico is with Cirillo and it is believed they are involved with drugs
18 February 2004:
- There was no word of Anthony Arillotta being inducted recently
- If Springfield ‘did it themselves’, then it is not real or recognised by New York
- Felix Tranghese is the acting boss, but DeLuca is in charge [I believe Bologna is referring to 'acting boss' of Springfield rather than the entire Genovese family]
15 March 2004:

Re: John Bologna 302 notes
I tended to focus on Bologna's identification of administration members, and in particular found his comments about Squitieri and Sisca interesting. In November 2002, Frank Cali was on tape talking about how Squitieri was taken off the administration and John Rizzo was bumped up, though Rizzo doesn't make an appearance here. I believe Capeci once referred to Sisca as the underboss before. This was the first I'd heard of Filippelli being acting underboss.
Should also note as Bologna was a non-member his information should be taken with a pinch of salt though he is accurate about a lot of other administration appointments.

Thanks for sharing.
The Nicholas Corozzo he says is a captain is Blaise's son. He was proposed for membership in the early 2000s.

The 2005 indictment doesn't use the term Acting UnderBoss but it does allude to this. Looks like Filipelli's official rank remained as Soldier.
Following the arrest and detention in September 2004 of Gambino Organized Crime Family Acting Underboss ANTHONY MEGALE, FILIPPELLI assumed some of MEGALE’s supervisory responsibilities.
In September 2004, MEGALE was arrested on separate Federal racketeeringcharges in the District of Connecticut, and was detained. At Such time, other members of the Gambino Organized Crime Family assumed certain of MEGALE’s supervisory responsibilities.

Three points:
I take it the joseph Gambino chased out is joe from the bronx?
Was squitieri really the official boss?
Seems Barney was always kept in the loop via Mario gigante. He was always going to be chins successor even back then.

Re: John Bologna 302 notes
The Squitieri as boss thing is something that can probably be chalked up to Bologna's limited knowledge as an outsider. Though, to be fair, I don't think he ever says 'official boss' when talking about him. We know from the Nick Stefanelli wire in 2010 that Peter Gotti was still the boss by that point so it's safe to say Squitieri was never official boss.don-shunter wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 12:52 pm Was squitieri really the official boss?

The lawyer Peter Peluso also confirms Bellomo was kept in the loop through the early 2000s.

Re: John Bologna 302 notes
Yes Joe from the Bronx. Squitieri was acting boss. As Bologna said, he had health issues and he also had parole restrictions so a lot of the time it was Sisca, Louis Filippelli or Anthony Megale (when he was on the street) that were attending sit downs on Squitieri's behalf. I think this is why Bologna clarifies that Squitieri is the real boss because he had final word.don-shunter wrote: ↑Sun Aug 28, 2022 12:52 pm Three points:

Re: John Bologna 302 notes
I'm not sure if he was ever made. He was indicted as an associate in 2009.
Blaise has two sons who have been involved in the life. Blaise jr was/is considered an associate.
Re: John Bologna 302 notes

Re: John Bologna 302 notes
Was John Bologna the New York version of Bulger and possibly involved in the murder of Al Bruno? As suggested in these articles https://www.masslive.com/news/2013/05/n ... t_joh.html https://www.masslive.com/news/2015/12/i ... als_i.html
Re: John Bologna 302 notes
I believe they never used him in any trial he was so shady. Interesting he was a Gambino associate hanging around all these genomes guys. Even going to see barney in jail
Re: John Bologna 302 notes
Also seems like the Gambino family knew he went bad Mayne why he started hanging around the Westside. He would be a interesting youtube guy.
Re: John Bologna 302 notes
Mancuso is Arnold Squitieri’s nephew.
Never heard that before. Squitieri was a notorious narcotics trafficker and makes me wonder if Mikey Nose was involved.
