I'm going to be in downtown Pittsburgh at a conference in late September (at the Omni downtown). I've never been and will have a little time to explore.
Are there any mob locations of note in the downtown core, or within a couple of miles? I'll also do a search through posts but figured this would be worth asking on a separate thread as well.

Good as dead. Dels on Liberty Ave. was last in my opinion. Italian grocery Donatellis on Liberty is about to close but somewhat authentic.

I was there last year and Bloomfield (Little Italy) had only a handful of Italian stores and restaurants left. They did have a big sign welcome to little Italy sign. The last two old school places that were left were Pleasure Bar and Lombardozzi. Lombardozzi was temporarily closed last year and looks like it still is unfortunately. Try Pleasure Bar. I think some mafia guys use to hang out there. 100 Sandusky St- John LaRocca’s headquarters at the car wash that he owned.
5843 Forbes St- The Beacon Club (In Squirrel Hill)…Longtime mob social club going back to the early 1930’s…Chucky Porter took the club over in the early 1980’s. In 1959, the club was relocated to 1928 1/2 Murray Ave.
1926 Murray Ave- Squirrel Hill Veterans Club (next door to Beacon Club)
522 Larimer Ave (East Liberty aka Bloomfield)- The address was home to the Red Eagle Bar/Club, run by Mike Genovese and his brothers. Mike held court there for many years in the back room. Many Pittsburgh mobsters came from East Liberty along Larimer Ave, Pittsburgh’s largest Italian settlement area.
Try Fiori’s pizza…Great pies and was once a numbers drop off location…
