Re: Tommy Farese just get pinched for healthcare fraud?
Here’s an indictment about Truglia last year which appears to be the same scam https://www.justice.gov/criminal-fraud/ ... 6/download
It probably explains the 65-93 mill mixup.
When I first saw the East Coast LCN case With the pain cream I was like damn a lot of money for little jail time and was wondering why they aren’t doing more of these healthcare scams.
Seems like Florida is also like a little hub for these scams with all that corruption
I Wonder what little scams the five families got going like this one. Making big money and not setting cars on fire for $400

Looks like that Gotto guy was making some serious money building all these golf courses. Why would he put himself at risk like this for just a couple more mill?
Unless the guy is a legit Colombo associate and not a a extremely greedy businessman. I don’t see why he had to do this ? Why go out on a limb to put himself as a “mob associate” for the rest of his life and risk future contracts.

Patsy Truglia family is originally from NJ... Long Branch I believe. He and his brother Anthony were popped for RICO in the mid 90s for Telemarketing scams. I believe this article confuses patsys father for him. The age doesn't add up.. See below:
"Drug dealing was providing big easy money for many gangs in the seventies, especially in New York, and in spite of Richie Boiardo’s strict ban prohibiting his crew from dealing in narcotics—like Vito Corleone, Boiardo believed drug trafficking was a dirty business that would destroy his political connections—Anthony Russo began nibbling at the fringes, lending money to dealers and shaking them down at the Jersey Shore and in Florida. He kept this activity under the radar and out of Boiardo’s sight until a series of murders befell mobster emissaries who attempted to collect on loans made to drug traffickers.
Patrick “Patsy” Truglia, thirty-six, a known drug dealer living in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, with roots in Long Branch, New Jersey, reneged on a $50,000 loan and failed to pay up even after being beaten. On April 2, 1976, a trio of enforcers was dispatched to Truglia’s home: James “Big Jim” Capotoria, who was six foot four and weighed three hundred pounds, and his associates Wayne Neeld and Bobby Dee. Capotoria demanded that Truglia and his wife, Mary Lou, turn over their Lincoln Continental along with some jewelry. Mary Lou refused. Big Jim punched her, knocking out a tooth. They slapped Patsy around and Neeld aimed a gun at him. Capotoria gave the signal to shoot. Patsy reached under a dining room table, pulled out a concealed Browning automatic pistol and fired thirteen shots, killing all three men. When the police arrived, Patsy denied he was involved in drug dealing but admitted he owed money to a man named Nick Russo. He was charged with homicide.
His case went to trial, but he was found innocent by reason of self-defense. The following year, one of Little Pussy’s associates, Joseph Agnellino, was murdered, apparently by drug dealers. In order to exact revenge, and also perhaps to make amends for his own drug-related transgressions, Anthony Russo requested and received permission from Boiardo and the Genovese family bosses in New York “to rid Monmouth County of drug dealers by taking their money and throwing away their drugs” and to kill the men responsible for the Agnellino murder, including Truglia, who he believed was involved. In taped conversations between Russo and another associate, he declared that “he would not bury the person responsible” but “would leave them out in the open so everyone will know that if any[one|] gets out of line that's what's gonna happen with them.””
Anthony Russo put so much pressure on local drug dealers that they requested police protection. Vincent DeMarzo, an addict, who had been arrested at Agnellino’s murder scene, pled guilty to the killing and was found hanged in his cell at Trenton State Prison in December 1978. Prison officials called his death a suicide. Russo’s crackdown came to an end when police arrested two of his henchmen, including his personal driver Patrick Pizuto, who later turned informant. Truglia escaped Little Pussy’s wrath and continued his life of petty crime; in 1984 he was sentenced to fourteen years in prison for attempted murder; in 1995 he was arrested in Florida along with his brother for participating in a telemarketing scheme that defrauded elderly people of $500,000.”

I’ve heard Mix doesn’t mix well (his choice for safety reasons) with the northern guys, and has license to be somewhat independent in SoFla. I’m also guess Trugs is probably made at this point. There were there separate operations that got pinched. One Tampa based, and the other two largely SE Florida based, with some Tampa, and obviously the dudes that plead (maybe snitched) from up north. Call this my speculation since my South Florida posts on here offend someone folks.

Re: Tommy Farese just get pinched for healthcare fraud?
I’d not read anything into that. It wasn’t an OC investigation, only one of the three indictments were based up north, and I suspect Mix gets to do what he wants to do. I don’t believe it was an FBI thing, I think it was a healthcare investigation. I don’t know for sure.
Now that I post this I’m wondering 3-4 indictments? One Tampa based with a snitch who went rogue. Mamone’s busy in 2021. Two separate with Trugs, and one of those two with Mix. I think there could have been four indictments, two largely Tampa based, and two largely Broward based and one of those two with some NJ guys.
The first Mix Trugs indictment was widely reported. The Mamone bust wasn’t as reported. The second Trugs indictment I didn’t even realize I was told at dinner Friday and went searching for the sentencing.
I’d also suggest/speculate being shelved doesn’t always mean what some think it means.
I don’t 100% know, and I’m not a researcher. My knowledge comes from my experiences. And I’ve met two of the gentleman involved in this thing. We obviously never spoke about the specifics of this. But my sense is Mix is t shelved, but semi retired and has license to be a free agent so to speak. I’d say/speculate that Tampa (Frank) was aware and granted permission out of respect, and that Mix was free to mix with Gambino. I’ve seen Colombo’s and Gambinos cooperate in SoFla.
That’s my sense and speculation based on more than pure speculation, and I know thee types of posts make a couple of guys angry on here, but I don’t care. I know what I know. I don’t keep track of this stuff. Again, someone told me at dinner Friday Trugs got sentenced, I found the press release. That’s the only way I knew about this. The other stuff is from observation and spending some time, as recently as last winter, but I’m not actively involved in anything except being a welcome guest at a couple social clubs.

Mix isnt going to walk away, free agent or not, with millions without Teddy asking for a kick.
Nobodies a free agent in retrospect.

I’m not sure you or I know this with any degree of confidence. I suspect you’re statement above is correct the vast majority of times, but I also suspect on rare occasions it isn’t true. More than suspect, but that’s hearsay.SonnyBlackstein wrote: ↑Mon Jul 11, 2022 3:14 pm Mix isnt going to walk away, free agent or not, with millions without Teddy asking for a kick.

I guess part of my point is I’m not convinced anyone knew what Mix was up to except those involved. That wouldn’t surprise me one bit. They obviously know now, but who is going to do anything about it?
But again, neither of us know. Your perspective comes from one place, my perspective comes from a different place. You could be correct, I could be correct, or reality could be anywhere in between.
In my specific case one will see posts about Colombo’s, and mostly Colombo’s invoked in South Florida. Maybe a couple Gamono posts. And rarely Philadelphia, mostly because I have nothing to add in Philadelphia, and my only experience was a Testa was an invited guest at my sister’s wedding. Big deal. My stuff on the other tow come from what I’ve been told and what I’ve seen. This said, what I’ve been told and what I’ve seen is a pretty small sample size, and maybe I’m just making it all up. I’m pretty sure some do.
Anyway, regards. I enjoy the topic, and I enjoy respectful back and forth.

Tom became affiliated with the Colombos by doing time with a Colombo member in FL prison. I am assuming his met Carmines daughter later thru his Colombo affiliation in FL. We was a non connected guy when he went to prison in FL for Drug Dealing n Money laundering Drug money.Had he not done time with a Colombo guy in FL he might not have ever been a colombo
