FOIA requests?
I might have asked about this before but has anyone on here tried filing for FOIA files on La Cosa Nostra and individuals in particular?
Re: FOIA requests?
Yes, it can be done here: https://efoia.fbi.gov/Uforeality wrote: ↑Tue Jul 05, 2022 10:52 am I might have asked about this before but has anyone on here tried filing for FOIA files on La Cosa Nostra and individuals in particular?
You'll need to authenticate your email. After this is done, just select "deceased individual" as the subject of your request. You can then fill out biographical information for your subject, but I've found that you really only need their full name, birth, and death date. You'll also need to attach a "proof of death," which is "official" documentation of the individual's death (newspaper article, SSDI entry, etc.).

Re: FOIA requests?
I'm gonna give this a shot. However, is there any place on here that archives FOIA info?
Re: FOIA requests?
The FBI has its own list of dead people that can be used by researchers to make requests. This link has a RIDS list that is as recent as 2019: https://www.theblackvault.com/documenta ... dead-list/
There are lists of requests made by previous "requestors," but the time periods aren't complete. An easy way to find them is to Google "FBI FOIA" and then the name of someone who makes a lot of requests. If there's request that was previously fulfilled, you can use that request or FOIPA number to make a request of your own, and it should save time. Here's a couple:
