interesting stuff--i actually have someone related mentioned in the gambling/loansharking section, the info might be kind of right but not exactly 100% correct, interesting none the less--they talk about protege' of another guy--that's not exactly correct he was born into it--started with relatives in bootlegging, speakeasies throughout the valley then they branched into gambling and shylocking--lots of bars and businesses involved--goes all the way from bootlegging era (they had several farms and buildings with stills) to the last one who died about 3 years ago--the old guy not the one mentioned still had bookies and shylocks working for him when he died--but strange as it sounds a fairly good business was cashing ss checks for these elderly people, he'd take a few percent and then a lot of these old people would still place bets--but all that was when the business was winding down--they all got old and died--i'm still amazed that some of these old guys knew how to work a computer for gambling purposes, i'm not even sure if many of them made it to high school--if you made it to 8th grade you were a scholar, 3rd/4th grade was common time to drop out

i know for a fact the guy mentioned would report to NY at times, his cousin (the old guy i mentioned) also would also go to NY to talk--the cousins brother would report to someone in jersey named paul--i wish i had more details but i don't

they all spent a lot of time in AC and florida--they would leave on vacation say we'll be back in two weeks--two weeks would turn into 2 months--they would come back when they ran out of cash--we wouldn't even hear from them-they'd just show back up all tan and broke
