Re: DeCicco
be interesting if someone asked sammy. im not paying him the sweat off my balls but if he does one off those AMAs be cool. what was the paperwork that guy big scal had on deccico about informing. i mean his mother inlaw was a court clerk how was giving them all types of info how could they be wrong but you could read a fbi file fucked up. like the one where it has carmine persico as a fbi informant but in reality it states hes a capo in the colombo family
Re: DeCicco
Excellent find, B.
To me the informant could be George Remini.
- Remini was in prison with Gotti (and Frank DeCicco).
- Not sure if Remini was in construction, but Gotti made him Tommy Gambino's acting captain so in that capacity he probably dealt with concrete companies such as Scara-Mix.
- The informant (probably) was favored by Gotti recently (1986), again Gotti made Remini acting captain and confided in him (the bugged conservation were Gotti said how Gallo would being taken down as consigliere by promoting new captains that voted like Gotti wanted).
Some interesting parts from the book 'Boss of bosses'. Almost like the authors want to send a message:
"I dont wanna go to court"
"We only sell the freshest here"
"Joe O'Brien had gotten George Remini to smile for the camera"
"Information was now on a need-to-know basis"

Re: DeCicco
Great details. You might be right the redacted name is referring to Remini.
However, the guy in question is not the informant, he's the guy the informant suspects of being part of the plot to murder DeCicco. That actually makes it more likely it could be Remini given he was close to Castellano. Remini was also an usher at Carlo Gambino's funeral so the relationship goes back.

Re: DeCicco
Leah Remini’s father was named George but it’s not the Gambino member.

Was Gleeson book good?TSNYC wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 4:03 am Based on the Gleeson book, it definitely seems like some other still secret / unidentified Gambino CIs: there was a CI within Ravenite that identified the Cirelli apartment; and then there was a CI who was present at Dom Borghese’s induction.
There’s definitely a lot of smoke around DeCicco regarding the Commission meeting plus didn’t Gus Sclafani call him a rat, and once Gotti and DeCicco took over the family, one of the first orders of business was killing Sclafani.
Q: What doesn't work when it's fixed?
A: A jury!

It was good. Nothing spectacular and nothing too earth shattering. But interesting from the prosecutor perspective especially re the first trial. Was incredible the feud btwn the prosecutors and fbi for that first trial, the relationship really ruptured over Willie boy johnson fiasco.CornerBoy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 8:23 amWas Gleeson book good?TSNYC wrote: ↑Tue May 24, 2022 4:03 am Based on the Gleeson book, it definitely seems like some other still secret / unidentified Gambino CIs: there was a CI within Ravenite that identified the Cirelli apartment; and then there was a CI who was present at Dom Borghese’s induction.

I asked this during a Q and A and Sammy immediately shut it down and went on about what a mans man he was.....and didn’t the feds leak fake documents to her about Joe Butch getting indicated and that lead to him catching a private flight to Florida the same dayPmac2 wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 7:34 am be interesting if someone asked sammy. im not paying him the sweat off my balls but if he does one off those AMAs be cool. what was the paperwork that guy big scal had on deccico about informing. i mean his mother inlaw was a court clerk how was giving them all types of info how could they be wrong but you could read a fbi file fucked up. like the one where it has carmine persico as a fbi informant but in reality it states hes a capo in the colombo family
Re: DeCicco
Sclafani is the linchpin in all of this. Everything else is circumstantial but the info Sclafani was in possession of is crucial. Like other sources have said, someone can't just accuse someone of being a rat without providing evidence so either Sclafani was trying to take advantage of his known LE connection by making a false claim or he did have some kind of info.
A rebuttal to Sammy's "man's man" talk is that Sammy considers himself a man's man but what did he do? One of the biggest CWs of all time.
DeCicco was extremely tough but he was one of the most treacherous members of the Family at the time and that's indisputable.

Everyone loves to shit on Gotti. But as it turns out, he was more Cosna Nostra than Sammy, DeCicco, half the backstabbers who tried to over throw him etc etc etc.
How he played the game is open for discussion, but he was CN.

Re: DeCicco
Sammy’s latest podcast that’s about the casso shooting he brought up something interesting….
He said the reason that ruggierio tried to kill casso was that casso said his police contacts said ruggiero was a rat. Iv never heard that claim before but found it interesting
Would there be any possibility he could be one of these CIs in the question??
He said they got the info from the cops and it just died out basically n everyone forgot about it
