Re: 6 charged in Genovese bust
Great to see the Feds really cleaning up our streets. Let's not get too concerned with murders up 50% since 2020 (BLM), let's find a mafia guy who loans people money at 5% over the legal limit.

Balsamo seems to be one of the more active Genovese guys or the feds have a hard on for him as he seems to be caught up in a more of the recent genovese busts. 2006, East Coast LCN case and now this one

I believe John Campanella is the son-in-law of Louis Moscatiello. Everyone busted has ties to the Bronx. I wonder if a customer/victim flipped. Doubt anyone will do much time.

No one does any real time on gambling charges. When did Ralph get upped? The Creas from the Luchesse family lives in Tuckahor.

Re: 6 charged in Genovese bust
Well, the gambling is minor. What gets them isn’t loan sharing, but extortionate extension of credit. Specifically the word extortionate. The Feds love getting Sicilians, and love the word extortionate. Racketeering conspiracy is another.
It’s almost all bullshit, and the Feds specifically like to target us. Even if we just know the “wrong” people.
FWIW, specifically as it regards gambling, a lot of cooperation and working together in South Florida. In this case, working with Colombo’s and the sole active Trafficante in South Florida. I define that as Palm Beach, Broward and Miami Dade. I can’t really document any of this on here, but it is, and it was here also.

I looked at that 2004 Moscatiello bust too but you'll notice the John Campanella in the present case is 47. That means he would have been about 29 back in 2004. The John Campanella Jr. charged in the 2004 case was the manager for the Local 530 Benefit Funds. A guy that young in a position seems a little strange though I suppose anything is possible. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything with an age for the guy in 2004, which would answer the question one way or the other. Incidentally, the one in the earlier case was the brother in law of Moscatiello.sharpieone wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 4:56 pm I believe John Campanella is the son-in-law of Louis Moscatiello. Pennisi flipped in what, 2018? And Balsamo was a captain before that. I've seen conflicting info in recent years regarding Patty Falcetti and lean towards Balsamo having taken over that crew.NYNighthawk wrote: ↑Tue Apr 26, 2022 5:14 pmNo one does any real time on gambling charges. All roads lead to New York.
Re: 6 charged in Genovese bust
it must kill the feds they cant make big mafia headline cases like they did in the past. i know theyll never be as powerfull or corlorful the names and rackets. but barney belomo has been probaly the boss of the largest family in america for im guessing 7 10yrs and nothing. even a hierachy memeber nothing for that matter ther gambinos to. its almost like the boss is 99 percent legit. probaly takes gift from a select few and is so far insulated at the top they just cant build a case. they probaly looked for every murder in the last 40yrs and cant put him even in a thought.

The old Ardito Crew is another possibility.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Barney is playing it real quiet and low key. The feds know they will never get him and he basically has a free pass if he stays the way he is [reently doing.

The Colombo's, we know Andy Mush's shoe size.
Re: 6 charged in Genovese bust
There was a John "Beans" Campanella identified as a possible member close to the Genovese Little Italy guys in the 1950s, I assume a relative of Bonanno member Joe "Beans" Campanella. Not sure if John was actually made and if so which Family but maybe a connection to this one.
Re: 6 charged in Genovese bust
Two guys under 50 and one guy 51. That's not what we typically have seen lately. It's 70s, 80s, maybe 60s. Seems to be the older guys are very insulated.
