Philly restaurants
Combining two of my loves- food and philly mob gossip, I decided to make this list of restaurants that are in some way connected to the local mob, whether by personally observing guys there, ownership, news articles, or have otherwise been mentioned.
Chick's - owned by narducci, also saw the entire mazzone wing eating there a couple years ago (phil left as soon as they walked in).
Pizza is decent, duck wonton amazing, meatballs amazing
The saloon- mentioned at least half a dozen times as being a frequently visited location.
Excellent everything, their filet special is especially good
Radicchio- ligambi mentioned as having gone there, great seafood
Spassos in old city- ligambi mentioned as having gone there. Their seafood papradelle is one of the best blush sauce seafood pastas I've ever had
Spassos in media- Dom grande reported to be the owner
Nick's charcoal pit- former owner killed in a street dispute back in the day. Some of the best sandwiches in philly
Angelos- faffy works there (or did), best pizza and sandwiches in philly
Le virtu- saw one of the pungitore Brothers there a couple times. Good food but small plates
Kitchen consigliere- Angelo Lutz owns it, mentioned as being where they went after the 2o15 making ceremony
Chop house- staino referred to himself as the CFO of the philly mob to an undercover in the bathroom
Stogie joes- chuckie mentioned as hanging out here. Decent pizza
Villa de roma- seen a few old times at the bar over the years
Mancusos- met Borgesi there years ago. Excellent mozzarella, especially in Salt water
Where else? What am I missing?

Re: Philly restaurants
Stogie Joe’s has a good pork and broccoli rabe sandwich, never tried the pizza there. It definitely has a lot of local “atmosphere”, lol.

Went to Stogie Joes once and had some pizza, was decent …it was right when it opened 11am and it was just me sitting at one table and Chickie at another lol wearing a pinky ring iced out looking like a super bowl ring

Not sure this one qualifies; The Palizzi Social Club.

Excellent food, though that place feels like it's going for an old school mob "feel" but isn't remotely connectedFriendofHenry wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 8:57 am Not sure this one qualifies; The Palizzi Social Club.

That place and the “Messina Social” are hipster spots, like you said going for the mob lureBeatty wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 10:32 amExcellent food, though that place feels like it's going for an old school mob "feel" but isn't remotely connectedFriendofHenry wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 8:57 am Not sure this one qualifies; The Palizzi Social Club.

Re: Philly restaurants
Marty’s son Marty Jr is a Manager at Saloon, my favorite restaurant in South Philly. Kid is aces and a nice kid that works hard, exact opposite of his crumb Father.
Re: Philly restaurants
I go to Philly a lot on the weekends from South Jersey to play in poker tournaments and bc I never know when I’m finishing I go on OpenTable app when I’m done playing and never find an open reservation on a Friday or Saturday, understandably, with how good I hear it is…for one person, can I just show up and sit at the bar an order a meal? Or even that will be packed as well…any parking tips around there? lol it’s always a hard area for me to find parking ; I usually pop into Cowboys CBD shop down the block as wellNJShore4Life wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 3:36 pm Marty’s son Marty Jr is a Manager at Saloon, my favorite restaurant in South Philly. Re: Philly restaurants
I always sit at the upstairs bar at Saloon to eat, even when I’m with a broad. I never make reservations there. Speaking of Cowboys , you can almost bet your life you will see George Cowboy Martorano at Saloon, he must eat there almost every night.mpl0215 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 05, 2022 5:22 pmI go to Philly a lot on the weekends from South Jersey to play in poker tournaments and bc I never know when I’m finishing I go on OpenTable app when I’m done playing and never find an open reservation on a Friday or Saturday, understandably, with how good I hear it is…for one person, can I just show up and sit at the bar an order a meal?
