This actually sounds a lot like what Calabrianwatch was speaking on. That there are Ndrangheta " Imitators", who basically emulate the Ndrangheta, hoping to become affiliated or attached to one of the official groups...


I also like the way she describes Montreal as having evolved it's own emergent, regional OC network with it's own internal dynamics.

I also like the way she describes Montreal as having evolved it's own emergent, regional OC network with it's own internal dynamics.

My theory about Canada recently has come to be that a lot of these guys are just Italian gangsters - not specifically tied to a secret society. None of them are really initiated. Otherwise, I really don't think there would be as much blood shed as their has been up there. Vito and his top echelon of guys were the only made Cosa Nostra guys - other than that, I don't think any of them are - even Stefano Sollecito or Leonardo Rizzuto.

Agree - I heard her say this before too, hence my argument. Honestly being 'ndrangheta is just becoming the new popular story, things seem a lot more fluid especially in cities like Montreal. the usual problem with 'ethnic' crime.
