Richard Turchiarelli is Lou Turchiarelli's uncle. Richard (who is now 74) was indicted in for beating Long to death along with Gerace the Vegas blackjack dealer, Gramaglia, Bob Grisanti and other PBD officers. He was 30 at the time of his manslaughter trial.
Remember, Lou is an ex boxer who served time for extortionately collecting a 18k gambling debt from a man in Rochester in 2006. Additionally, he had been in a fight with Marc Panepinto just a year or so prior. At the time of his felony charge The Buffalo News indicates he was living at his father's residence on California Street in Buffalo. See: https://buffalonews.com/news/ex-candida ... 6f6d6.html On Facebook Lou posted a picture of himself with his Uncle Rich and Dad whose name is Donald.
Rumor is Lou continues to be an enforcer for the Gerace's gambling operations. (Anthony Gerace's plea deal mentioned an ex boxer being involved with them.)
Feds search home of State Supreme Court Justice John Michalski, who was hit by train last year
Lou Michel , Dan Herbeck
Federal agents and state police executed a search warrant Thursday morning at the Amherst home of State Supreme Court Justice John Michalski, who was hit by a train 13 months ago days after FBI agents questioned him about his friendship with the owner of a Cheektowaga strip club.
^^^^^
Dan and Lou keep updating the article. Gerace’s attorney says it’s all the ex-wife’s fault.
Gerace declined to comment on this latest development and instead referred inquiries to Steven M. Cohen, his attorney.
Cohen lambasted Gerace’s ex-wife, Katrina Nigro, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Joseph Tripi, the lead prosecutor in the ongoing federal investigation into organized crime.
“A disgruntled and disturbed ex-wife has been casting aspersions against some very fine people, and Judge Michalski is one in a long list who have been victimized by her," Cohen said.
Cohen called Michalski "one of the finest judges in the Eighth Judicial District.”
Nigro has said she has testified on organized crime before a federal grand jury, but declined to comment on what she told the grand jury.

All cases assigned to the State Supreme Court judge will be assigned to another judge and “no additional judicial matters will be assigned to Judge Michalski until further notice,” said Norman St. George, deputy chief administrative judge for the state Office of Courts Administration.
The state office sent The Buffalo News a statement announcing the move in response to questions from The News about a search warrant executed at Michalski’s Amherst home Thursday morning by agents from the FBI, Homeland Security, the state Attorney General’s Office and other law enforcement agencies.

Mar 31, 2022
Police who raided the Amherst home of State Supreme Court Judge John L. Michalski were looking for evidence of tax crimes, two government sources told The Buffalo News this week.
The sources said law enforcement officials are trying to determine whether an online retail clothing and jewelry business operated in the home has been following state and federal tax laws.
And authorities are now seeking information about another individual – Michalski's wife, Susan – in addition to the judge.
It’s really looking like IOC had real reach in upstate NY
It wld make alot of sense for NY famalies to have interests in upstate NY with less eyes and now it’s looking like. IOC were paying LE big sums of $ for protection.
This case & resulting discovery will be fascinating for mob watchers

Seems like the prosecutor initially threw put the IOC/LCN allegations and, when pressed by the defense, walked it back with: "What is relevant in this case is what defendant Bongiovanni's motives, knowledge, and beliefs were, and not whether there is actually an organization called the Buffalo LCN Family, mafia, or otherwise."
Correct. None of this necessarily has to do with what evidence on OC anyone has or doesn't have. It's the standard attempt in any case to lessen the burden of proof necessary for you to win.

Definitely trying to lower the burden to win the case but doesn’t change the fact that law enforcement and investigators believe contacts in Bongiovanni’s phone to be mafia members and/or associates. LE in Baltimore talking about LE in Buffalo see the screen shot from the evidentiary hearing:
