They did that to Merlino too a while ago. But the judge ruled in favor of Merlino bc he didn't like what they (govt) did.

According to the article it's not the first time he's been violated since he's been out

That’s almost text book definition of having a grudge on someone

If you think about it…. He has 2 confirmed murders (wife and randy paolzzolo) and only got 10 years for the latter…. Then stays running the fam from prison.

So I can understand- but at least he’s not media attention grabbing and hides his face old school style. Haven’t seen that in while

But ya that’s absolutely dirty move - what was merlinos countdown at when he got his charges?? It was like a month or so left if I remember correctly
HANG IT UP NICKY. ITS TIME TO GO HOME.

In Joey's case they filed the violation before but didn't serve him with the violation until a few days after he was off supervised release. Eddie Jacobs argued that the statute required he be served with violations while still on supervised release. Joey served 4 months until it was determined that Jacobs was right. Jacobs then argued at Joey's sentencing in the NY case that the government owed him 4 months. Didn't win that argument, lol.

Ok, your right, it didn't happen exactly how I stated my over arching theme was that the govt did it in a sneaky way roundabout way to JM similar to MM and whoever else wasn't prominent enough to get mentioned in the paper.

Mancuso must have some serious respect if the Bonannos made him boss while he was in prison.

If someone wants the top spot in this day and age, you’d almost be a fool to interject. It left the target on his back and the feds hard on for him persists. Think someone else really wants that role? But I do agree he probably also does have a decent amount of respect. Did he return to the Bronx after his halfway house?

You forget not very long ago several well liked veteran capos and admin members were shelved for trying to take over the family.

As for respect he’s a boss of one of the five families he’s done killings he’s done time and he’s made money along the way. He’s no Barney Bellomo but as far as bosses go Mikey Nose isn’t a slouch either.

Hopefully more comes out about the period right after he went to prison. Cicale said Mancuso was making a powergrab when he was on the street. It's come out Santora and Badalamenti were Mancuso loyalists and it looks like Sal Montagna played a big role helping secure Mancuso's position. That's significant given we now know Montagna wouldn't hesitate to assert his own influence through violence.

I’ve always wanted to know why Mancuso wasn’t permanently shelved for murdering his wife? Is it because the Bonannos were such a mess in the 80s and 90s that they couldn’t afford to lose him? Not only did he not get shelved but he eventually became boss of the freaking family. Always been curious about this.
