In the grand scheme of things is this going to matter? Is LCN (or anyone) in a position to take it back to pre-90s time control and dominance in today's age?

I gotta say… the timing couldn’t be better. When the supply chain is all kinds of fucked up and the unloaders and container storage guys have a lot of leverage. Ripe for everyone from the unloaders to the maintenance guys and all the unions that cover them and the different pieces of the puzzle to the property owners to really squeeze the retail outlets and shipping companies…

Nobody is going back to pre-1990s anything. However, the one area of the NY/NJ waterfront that has any real significance is the New Jersey ports, where the vast majority of shipping is done. Naturally it's also been where the mob's presence on the docks has been in the last 15-20 years. New Jersey has claimed it can police the waterfront for organized crime without the commission. Maybe it's gotten to the point where it can. But that will depend on how much of a priority it is for them. One thing is for sure, this definitely won't hurt the mob.

Not surprising

Port Newark has held up very well vs almost every port which is interesting. Very loyal workers that just follow the leaders word

They ain’t doing random violence anymore but this will def help out crews with port business . Pretty big news for them actually

During the strike the unions made their point and the state backed down. They were ahead of the times

NJ State Police have Organized Crime Squads on par with FBI.

They make a lot of LCN cases over the years. They might actually be bigger, more efficient ball breakers down at the Ports, who knows….

The beef is that WTC pre hire investigation is ridiculous and not competitive

I don’t think State Police will be doing pre hire investigation work ( no allegation of a crime ) but rather investigations actual crimes

Which, if that's the case, will only make it easier from mob-influenced locals to put their people in place. Relatively speaking, because of their contracts, the ILA already has a lot of control over the hiring process compared to other unions.

AJ’s is/was owned by Tony Lodi Cardinale who flipped and ratted on his whole entire crew. He also used to own Satin Dolls aka Bada Bing from The Sopranos….I knew one of his daughters very well back in the day, haven't seen her though since her Dad flipped and went into witness protection program however.
