Fat Tony Question

Post by TSNYC »

This article has a surveillance photo of fat Tony in front of the Palma boys. Curious who couple of the other guys pictured are

VC = Fish Cafaro

There’s a NA, can’t think of who that may be.

LW = Larry Wecker

I think there’s an LD listed. Thinking maybe Louie DiNapoli?

Also, fwiw, the village voice really did some of the most outstanding investigative articles on organized crime and labor racketeering.

Tom Robbins had some great mob articles in the VV over the years.

There is also another photo of this meeting where V.C (fish) is standing at the front N.A is sitting where V.C (Fish) was. I have seen N.A referred to as Nick Auletta, who was running a concrete company that Salerno had a piece of but I don't know if he was a member or associate. And yes, L.D was referred to as Louis DiNap in both pix.

Nick Auletta also owned and ran the Glenn Island Casino Restaurant and Caterers in New Rochelle during the 80's...Place was a literal goldmine. I heard the government took it over and were running it after him.

Nick Auletta was well-known around Pelham, New Rochelle, the Bronx, even Harlem. He was somewhat of an influential figure outside mafia circles because he supervised companies worth tens of millions of dollars. He was also a close business partner of Tony Salerno and Paul Castellano. Auletta was not a made member. According to court documents, his mob associates used him as a 'puppet on a string.'

This crew was so heavy into construction, especially concrete and drywall, with carpenters union connections.

I remember watching one of the Sammy Gravano YouTube videos where he was discussing some deal with Louie dibono and I was surprised how clueless Gravano sounded about the actual construction industry. I figured he’d have been well versed in the industry’s language, trades, etc.
