Henry Tamelo
Knowledge on this guy is pretty limited. Was he born in Boston? I always thought he was a RI guy because he was so close with Ray Sr. But it seems like he mostly operated in Boston/Revere/North Shore area. It has also been said he was a Bonanno guy at one point. I am curious how that happened? What crew was he with? Did he meet Bonanno guys through Ray? Any info on this guy thats not just wikipedia would be great! I have heard he died of Alzheimers in Walpole. I can't find a picture later than the late 60s. Would love to hear some thoughts/insight on Enrico "Henry "The Referee" Tamelo.

Re: Henry Tamelo
Thanks for the response! Interesting, I wasn't sure if he was like Bianco and was sent to NY to work for a family. Or made and then transferred like the guys Ray made and moved to the Genovese. It's also interesting that a guy not born in RI or MA would have so much power and respect to operate the way he did, then again he was super close with Ray maybe thats why. Any idea when he was made into the Bonannos or what crew he was with?

I thought Barboza turned him in for conspiring to kill Marfeo which was probably true after Marfeo slapped him.
Re: Henry Tamelo
I assume you guys are talking about Tameleo rather than Tamelo?

Re: Henry Tamelo
If it's helpful to anyone, Henry Tameleo was born and raised in RI. He was born Enrico Tameleo in 1901 in Providence to Saverio Tammelleo and Maria Dolce of Marzano Appio, Caserta, Campania. Perhaps as an adult, he spent time in NYC but his youth through the 1920 census, at least, was all in Providence.

Re: Henry Tamelo
I misspelled his name and forgot the e. I wonder what prompted him to go to NYC? He had a lot of power in MA. Not many RI guys not named Patriarca that had that amount of power and influence in MA. Thanks for the info Tony!PolackTony wrote: ↑Wed Nov 24, 2021 10:26 pm If it's helpful to anyone, Henry Tameleo was born and raised in RI.
