Visconti is tied by marriage to Louis Mongelli Sr. Mongelli is the former Orange County Sanitation owner who disappeared into the witness protection program in 1990 after pleading guilty to tax evasion and racketeering and testifying against the Mafia
I knew Mike through his brother in law (wife's brother). Like me, also in the sanitation business. Never knew Mike had some sort of family tie/ relationship with the Mongellis.
When Mike got arrested, we all got to listen to his discovery recordings and we got to hear DiGilio's son, Jeff, who woke up one day and decided to wear a wire for the feds to get revenge on the people who killed the father he never knew. That scumbag Jeff never paid his bills. Had a few dealings with him during the time he was a big shot snitch.

Thank for the input, if I can find more info about it I'll post it.. Wait a sec-that weird Jeff Santini guy, the informant? That would make him his illegitimate son, not even his biological father! Lol

You're not the only one who wondered that. Something doesn't add up about why this loser cooperated like that. We won't ever find out the real reason. Once these conniving rotten scumbag feds decide to bury something, it stays buried.

The thing I don't understand is I would think by now whatever psychological tactic the feds use to convince ppl to flip wouldn't work anymore specific to this and more broadly speaking to.

I did not realize this was a whole series about the Mob, thought it was just one he did on Prisco. Great find.

Frankly hasn't been too great of a Podcast overall outside of this episode and the interview with Murray Richmond. Just saw they did a Goodfellas review from the perspective of federal prosecutors. A fresh take no doubt, but not too interested in that. Hopefully Ezra talks more specifics on cases he's worked and/or we get some more interviews with rats that we've never heard from. The Visconti interview was great.

Damn, that's too bad. Haven't gotten to the other episodes. I'm not a huge fan of Honig in general.

JakeTheSnake630 wrote: Thu Sep 23, 2021 5:50 am Listening to episode 3, I really enjoy this podcast. In the beginning of ep3 the host mentions Todd LaBarca being caught on a wire talking about a murder. Is this the guy who was Hootie Russo's brother inlaw? I've seen people say Hootie threw him under the bus. Haven't finished the episode so IDK if he mentions LaBarca again, but I found it interesting.
About to check it out now. Just listened to the Murray episode the other day - that was great.

I think Hootie married LaBarca's sister. Not sure what Hootie did to him, but for whatever it's worth, LaBarca was caught on tape admitting to his own participation in a planned and coordinated first degree murder - and Hootie wasn't the person who was taping.
The Marty Bosshart hit, the one that Alphonse Trucchio supposedly got his stripes for?

Labarca was part of the hit too if I remember correctly...I think all were tied to the Trucchio crew in some way...
