Cavita and I were trying to figure out if he was connected to Biagio DiGiacomo as they both have families from Agrigento in a family with few to no ties to that area. I think the Caruanas came from Montallegro, near Siculiana. Never found any obvious connection to DiGiacomo.

An obituary for a Caruana relative in 2006 said Michael was deceased by that time.
