Philly’s lack of serious up and comers.

Post by HoagieNose »

It seems by most charts the huge majority of Philly guys are 50 and older. Other than Grande there no (known) made younger guys 45 and younger.

I know there is a ton of younger guys who are wannabes but is there any legit younger guys? Maybe they are operating low key but that seems to be very hard nowadays.

It really seems like the family is getting old fast, with not much younger guys to take over in the next decade.

They are beginning to age out from attrition and changing demographics like so many families have in the past. Looking at the ages of the associates in this last big bust and all but one of them is a senior citizen and the lone exception isn't even Italian. Compared to the Scarfo, Stanfa, Merlino and even Ligambi indictments this one skews the oldest.

Bunch of old geezers living off a reputation from the 80s. The so called “takeover” of Atlantic City in 2020 extorting people. Even Schwarteizer and Anastasia saying it’s 30 yrs too late to get any serious cash doing that in one of their podcasts

In the last busts it even seems they gave their youngest guy the shittiest crew

I think the New York families will finally get really schlonged by this when the guys born before like 1960~1970 start dying off.

So New York becoming unviable a bit after 2050? We'll see. I'll be in my 70s then.

There’s younger guys around.

That recent indictment back in November was just the Mazzone wing of the family that AP was able to jam up when he wore a wire that were involved in drug dealing and bookmaking with AP. It wasnt a family wide indictment, a lot of people didn’t trust AP.

Since they have been mentioned on here before, some of the younger guys are Mikey Chang Jr, Mikey Emma, and Joey Baldino. There’s others that haven’t been mentioned on here before.

Yeah you see a big drop off in criminal involvement with guys born in the 1970s and into the early 80s. That number just falls off a cliff when you get to the cohort born in the late 80s and 1990s. The millennials didn't become involved with LCN like previous generations did.

NY and Philly had the highest proportion of young blood in the country which has helped them survive at the level they have but that pool has dried up now and they will be really feeling it soon. What you see now is guys that were criminals in the 1980s and 1990s still engaging in crime but the guys born the 1980s and 1990s aren't there in sufficient numbers to replace them.

This is going to be absolutely fascinating to watch unfold. And you can count on me to be on whatever non-stupid mob forums there are through then. I'll be on here in the 2050s, retired in Tokyo probably, posting back and forth with Pogo about the fall of the American Cosa Nostra like I have been consistently since 1999.

I think those guys in that picture you are talking about had a falling out with Joey and are long gone .

I think one of the Joey’s guys in Florida is CARMINE GALLO, I think he’s in his late 30s , early 40s .

Many years ago Mike Ciancaglini Jr. and a Piccolo were busted for videotaping themselves getting young girls (12-years-old if I remember right) drunk and stoned at the Jersey shore and having sex with them.

The guys were barely adults but still no excuse given how young the girls were. Always wondered how his uncle and the other mob guys reacted to such stupid depravity.

He has a big tattoo of his father's face and shows up in the softball photos from recent years.

It's been said one of Joe Sr.'s grandsons hangs around him and drives him. I assume that's Michael Jr.

Natale called Phil Casale a "great guy" after he sexually assaulted a 9-year-old girl, so that wouldn't be a first
