Victim was apparently once part of Ducarme Joseph’s inner circle. I wonder if the Rizzutos are still eliminating targets.
Re: Montreal Mafia status - Post Rizzuto Era
I was wondering if maybe it was retaliation for Mompoint. I don't know the gang landscape really besides its divided between Reds and Blues. Which both men were members of, the timing of it seems too much of a coincidence.

They have killed gang members in the past. What makes you think they arent now? And they are/were partners with Wooley who is a gang leader. Trying to understand your take on this.CabriniGreen wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 10:43 pmOr Whooley cleaning house.... the Italians arnt going to hit a bunch of gangbangers......PogueMahone wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 8:55 am Victim was apparently once part of Ducarme Joseph’s inner circle. Wish there was more on Davide Barberio, he seems like an interesting character who has kinda came up out of no where.

So who`s the big shot now in Montreal? I heard the Calabrians in Toronto are moving in.
Re: Montreal Mafia status - Post Rizzuto Era
As side from the Sicilian vs Calabrian narrative that was/is going on about Montreal I don't think I've seen anything that's actually said or proved the Siderno Group has moved in.
As far as I know the Rizzutos are still the dominant Italians in the city and the Hells Angels are at the top of the Montreal Underworld.

When they say Calabrians, they mean the Calabrians of Montreal, the old faction of Vic & Frank Cotroni, not the Siderno GroupOcSleeper wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 5:06 pm As side from the Sicilian vs Calabrian narrative that was/is going on about Montreal I don't think I've seen anything that's actually said or proved the Siderno Group has moved in.

Because some members of this faction were members of factions rivaling Rizzuto (Di Maulo or Gallo for example), the press made a Calabrian vs Sicilian shortcut, when things were a little more complex than that. A legacy of the feud Rizzuto/Violi I guess
