Michael Caiazzo and Pete Tambone

Post by Browniety86 »

Were Michael Caiazzo or Little Pete Tambone ever let back around the Gambino Family after being shelved and chased respectively?

If I remember right when Gotti took over Tambone was taken off the shelf and Caiazzo was placed direct with the administration.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Tambone I sorta knew came back but I always thought Caiazzo was kept out cause it was Neil who shelved him. Pure speculation on my part though.

In Mustain's book Mob Star, it says Pete Tambone was kept abreast of the Commission vote to kill or not to kill him by Angelo Ruggiero...what I dont understand is was the guy willing to take the clip like Sonny Black if Ruggiero came back with bad news? I mean I always thought the decision to kill or not to kill a guy was secretive. It seemed as though Tambone was kept updated throughout the Commission meetings on his fate.

Off the top of my head, Tambone was dealing heroin and Castellano put it up to a vote by the commission to see if he would be killed. Persico and Corallo said no, Castellano and Gigante said yes. Bonanno’s weren’t on the commission at this point (1980s). Guessing when Gotti was made boss Tambone was bought back into the fold. I have no idea about who Caiazzo is and what he did except that he was around Dellacroce.

Why would castellano need a commission vote to whack one of his own soldiers?

See that's another part that's confusing, unless the heroin operation involved multiple families and blame was trying to be levied accordingly...

Mike Caiazzo was Dellacroce's driver and a Gambino captain. What he did was name Joseph LaForte, Jr an acting captain without consulting anyone which pissed Neil off to no end...
