They all have a "good reason": a long prison sentence. Any time you make a decision you have to weigh the pros and the cons and for virtually all of these guys there are a lot more reasons to cooperate than not. Especially these days, you don't even have to join WITSEC or anything like that for the most part. You can say that ratting makes them a scumbag, but guess what? Nicky Skins ratting is not justifiable. Of course a father would do anything to save his son, but that doesn't make it justifiable. "I'm a criminal who can't handle prison" is never a good excuse.
