THIS IS POTENTIALLY EXPLOSIVE
Nicolino Grande Aracri is the first boss of such a high ranking that decides to talk. Boss of the province of Crotone, he is rich and very very powerful.

I think camorra and sicilians have had a few bosses flip. Have the Calabrians ever had one before?

Not of this calibre, no. But there have been important ones that flipped in the past like Luigi Buonaventura, like now in Rinascita Scott Emanuele Mancuso, like Antonino Belnome in the north, plus a series of others, like Giuseppina Pesce, daughter of the boss of Rosarno and others. Not of the calibre of Grandi Aracri though.

He is the capo Crimine of the Province of Crotone - given the ranking of CRIMINALE or Crimine Internazionale allegedly by Antonio Pelle to run the independent province of Crotone - he was capobastone of the Grandi Aracri ndrina of course and capo locale of Cutro as well.

It's what the Mancuso lobbied Polsi for, a Crimine for Vibo..... then some powerful locales backed the Piscopisani..... apparently they didnt want the Mancusos any more powerful....

exactly! Mancuso wanted to be pretty much like Grandi Aracri - he actually backed Grandi Aracri when he established the provincia of Crotone about ten years ago...but the clans in Vibo are a bit more unruly, and already organised in federation...

Sorry for stupid question. I know that ndrangheya divided Calabria into three macro zones. So we have capobastone, then capolocale and next capo crimine (boss one of the three territories of Calabria)?

It’s the Reggio province that is divided into three not the whole of Calabria - at any stage the three mandamenti in Reggio - ndrine -> capobastone | locale (as group of ndrine) -> capolocale | within the locale two società (minore and maggiore depending on ranking > caposocieta (x2) | then mandamento > capo mandamento and then provincia (Reggio) > capo crimine >>> there is also another province in crotone and possibly vibo/Catanzaro informally :)

Dang, from Sergi’s tweet:
”In Baden-Wurttemberg [Germany], according to Italian police, there are 154 alleged Italian mafia members of which 81 are ndranghetisti. They are majorly in the area of Konstanz”
Wonder if they’re all Calabrian or if there’s other Italian groups?

I just started reading this, it takes a little longer cause it’s in English, but Anna Sergi breaks down all of Europe.

She mentions I believe all of them in different capacities, being Ndrangheta, Camorra, CN, Stidda and SCU, in the Deutschland!
