Colombo Dope
Who were some of the bigger junk guys with the Colombos? Every other family theres a bunch of names that come to mind, but not really with the Colombos. Would love to hear some thoughts.
If nobody sees it, it didn't happen.
Re: Colombo Dope
Old man Profaci comes to mind. I remember reading somewhere that he was behind smuggling heroin hidden in wax oranges that came thru his Mama Mia importing company.

I can't think of any major traffickers from that family, but I'm sure plenty of guys did it as a side hustle. Soldier Michael Souza and his crew were charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine base and conspiracy to distribute marijuana, among other charges, in 2006.

Teddy Persico Jr. did a lot of time for dealing drugs in the 1980s.

Re: Colombo Dope
Wild Bills crew was involved with extorting and robbing drug dealers in the 'party scene' (Limelight, the club/rave scene, etc) and also shaking down or 'protecting' others that were doing the same thing. I think they took money from guys moving drugs versus moving drugs themselves
More recently wasn't John "Brains" Cerbone a pretty high level drug dealer?

Re: Colombo Dope
Its the colombos, they all sell.
By 2021, dope is about all they have left. I don't think the colombos or bonannos would have any recruits if they didn't let dealers in. Im not saying they dont have any earners, but the average made guy in the colombos is likely to earn more off drugs than anything else. Off the top of my head im thinking of guys like Tommy Farese, who even when he had a couple of streams of extra income as the acting consigliere, still couldn't resist the temptation for easy money. I think the feds got him by setting him up for money laundering but still. None of these guys can avoid easy money.

Re: Colombo Dope
If you go through the drug cases over the last 20 years, the Colombos actually have the least involvement. Which is probably more a result of the state of the family than them intentionally avoiding it. They've had the least cases out of the NY families and the least amount of people charged for it. Gambling is going to be their biggest money maker, as always.
All roads lead to New York.
