You will need to read up on Whitey and crew because the movie was hardly close to that whole story. Trust me on that one. Plus the movie tends to make it out like Whitey was the only criminal mind and "controlled" the whole crew was a joke. Stevie Flemmi for the sicko that he was, was just as big a gangster and leader that Whitey was in the Winter-Hill Gang. In terms of leadership it was more 1a/1b than Whitey being the man and Flemmi following. The movie makes it out like he was a puppy dog to Whitey much like Martorano who was a stone cold killer in his own right. So there was a comedy of errors in the movie like we've all been saying.paph wrote:why is pure fiction ?
i saw yesterday the movie and yes i appreciated that but it seems the D'angiulo was idiots while he was the boss of Boston
I think the he replys anyway at the italians
The Angiulo's ran Boston for a long time and they made a LOT of money and their families are still well off, so they were far from idiots. From the moment Patriarca gave him the power in Boston he controlled ALL the bookmaking and loansharking there so that says something. Like him or not he got all the money in line and into his pockets instead of Boston being a mess at the time.
