Do you guys think FBI still have the Lucky Luciano tapes?

Post by Momo »

If I remember correctly FBI bugged his telephone and I assume they didn't just write down what they heard, I'm sure they taped it too If they did, you guys think they still have them? Maybe if we request, they'll relase it, like the files. It’s probably our best chance to hear is voice. I know he had a heavy New York accent that he always hated but listening to his voice record would be awsome, wouldn't it?

You could try and file a FOIA request, and specifically ask for the audio to be released, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they only have the transcript.

Can I file a FOIA request if I'm not from US?

Yes. Many people here in this forum live in Europe and have made many requests.

Thanks. I did little bit of a research by myself and I found that there's a request cost. Is there a way to request without paying? I know it's probably a small fee for the people that earn USD and Euro but I earn TL, technically I don't cause I'm still in HS, anyways I have to pay 7 times more of the fee but I don't wanna. Do you think is there a way to request without paying a penny?

If what you have requested has been released before, you won’t have to pay. But there’s no way to know until you request it. If you do have to pay, I believe they’ll send you a letter stating the cost.

Thanks. I tried to request but it was soo complex that I didn't understand a thing. Hope someone will request it in near future.

Yeah, I heard one of the interviewer's kid or some family member have the interview, not sure though. I hate those kind of people. Same goes for Al Capone's grandson, she have the silent film of Lucky Luciano, Al Capone, Frank Costello and others but she ain't relasing it. I don't want to call names but bitch you probably don't even remember a shit about Al Capone. Just relase it!
