That was it...it came out in the wiretaps between Fiore and either Chippy or Ciaccia. He was saying he had it on good authority that Ernie Muscarella was the Underboss for the Genovese.

He was paraphrasing Gravano. If memory serves, what Gravano said was, the reputation of the mob, their union influence, etc. didn't matter if, at the end of the day, their companies didn't do quality work. In other words, they could scheme to get bids all day but people would eventually refuse to do business if they put out a shoddy product.

Gravano never said they still didn't run scams after the fact, be it padding the bill, no show jobs, using non-union workers, theft, or whatever.

The guy alphonso fungi mosca was the guy with cancer big paul out as his bag man in the concrete club but he was also the owner or partner I read in some concrete company. Gravano always said he had drywall companies so I dont know why he would be sitting in with those other bosses or key players in the concrete club. In the 80tys sammy was beefing with that guy louie dibono over drywall shit. He might have been there or drove there but sammy wasn't a concrete guy till he became Gottis underboss or consig. Derailed the thread

The meetings weren't always just about concrete alone. They were about construction in general, of which their control of concrete was a major part.

I don't think all the bosses in the concrete club were concrete guys either.

It shows up on the internet that Joe N Gallo was the representative for the Gambinos in the Concrete Club.

I don't recall him having any specific role in the concrete club. He was involved in one of the garment industry associations.

Tony, I didn't say they were going to sentence him to 5 years, but that's what they're looking at in the plea memorandum....Georgie and Ciaccia. To my knowledge Ciaccia doesn't even have a record, so it's unlikely he even gets time....Georgie might be another story.
Just like Andrew and Fiore are looking at 20 apiece, neither will get it but that's what the charge carries potentially.

My point was that HOW FUCKIN STUPID are you to dip out on a 30 hour class for Occupational Safety, and that because it happens to be run by a Federally run agency and not the County, or the City or whoever, now you are perpetrating a Federal Fraud case and subjecting yourself to a top sentence of 5 years, for what? Because you don't want to go sit in a class? Where's the gain? It doesn't make any sense. This whole case made no sense. They had a legitimate business that was bringing in a ton of money and getting big time contracts on major construction projects, and they could've continued to do that for years and years, but because "we're wiseguys, we do what the fuck we want", they brought the whole thing down and are gonna go do time now. Just stupid from any angle.

You got your gambling, your shylocking, anything illegit--continue with that, but don't fuck up a good thing that is legitimately producing by being short sighted and greedy.

I agree with everything you said but the osha class part.
As I have been in the building trades union all my life following some family members before me. An osha class is not run by an agency. It can be run by anyone. For example, I'm in the ironworkers union. I went to a plumbers union hall, paid the $100 fee showed up for 3 days and got certified. No written exam, no quiz, just videos. Then they send your name to the dept of labor a a month later you got a card in the mail with your name and identifying # to state the credentials of the class and such. There is no state official of any kind before, during, or after the class.

I had to watch a 10hr video on the internet whenever I had free time. A hour here a hour there. Its comes in chapter and at the end of each one there's a multiple choice test you have to get so many rite. But that's a osha 10 card in NYC they make workers take osha 30hr course

As long as you take an osha 10 once every 5 years you don't even need to take an osha 30 ever again. That is why it's so ridiculous when I said earlier on in different thread that the feds even mentioned it.

Most job sites in NYC require the OSHA 30 but there are still some that allow the OSHA 10. It's very common for guys to just pay the fee not take the actual class all you need is a certified instructor to play ball and they aren't hard to find.
