Lou Aurrichio has COVID and is on a ventilator

Wow that’s a shocker and a little scary . This was a tough / strong and from what I heard several years ago in good shape.

He must of had high blood pressure and maybe a higher risk blood type.

Now that he has passed , does anyone know how active he was today ?

I was wondering the same. I believe he might have grown up in Montclair..im not entirely sure. I know he had allot of brothers and step brothers and sisters. His sister was married to John Lynch the NJ democrat power broker who was tied to a probe of Prisco's early parole from NJ state prison. I am also unsure how he became associated with this Westside NJ crew of DiGilio's. It could possibly be Vincent Ravo since Lou was involved in the bar/ restaurant/ club scene quite a bit? I don't know allot about he got started as an LCN associate. Lou was pretty young and became very rich at a young age. Cops suspected him of moving many kilos weekly but never could nab him. He eventually went down for Tax Evasion and when he was serving time for that conviction they hit him with the RICO and Murder Conspiracy for the DiGilio murder. A member of clean up crew(Purcell ?) flipped and gave Lou up. Lou pleaded out to the DiGilio hit , two other murders and assaulting a few union guys who didn't want to playball. He never gave anyone up..just plead guilty on a plea because they had him and did allot of time Fed and State after his fed time. I would imagine he did time with a ton of other wiseguys. Yes I saw the photo. I got the impression from somewhere that he was planning to move there as his new girl was from Chicago. Not sure though. If the guy in the pic is actually Sammy Marcello, it does suggest a deeper subtext of course.

Lou was in Fed Pen for decades. Im sure he got close to a lot of guys from Chicago in there. Bonanno's had a guy out there. And Vinny Green was working with Chicago guys in the Strip Clubs in Vegas for decades.

I know people that knew him well. I am yet to hear anyone say a bad thing about the guy....but I don't know anyone in the DiGilio family either ...lol

I remember working for Lou somewhere around 1986ish. I was a waiter at his club, Scandals. I'll never forget that place. The basement was where the staff would relax or get ready for working the tables. An enormous big screen TV was always on. Couches and a private room off the back. The chef at the time, Ralph, had recently been released from a bid. He was a 5 star chef, we ate like royalty every night. The state, of course, refused to grant his liquor license so we would always be running across the street in our tuxedos to purchase whatever liquor the customers wanted and they would just appear as if they brought it in with them.
One night I remember a table of important looking men and their ladies were having dinner. The one woman had a dish with a half of a lemon wrapped in cheese cloth on the edge of the plate. When I removed the plate, the lemon flopped off the edge. I could swear that fuckin lemon was in slow-mo as my heart dropped into my balls when it bounced off her boob zone, hit her bright yellow dress and left blood red skid marks right down dress and then to her beautiful stockinged leg and landed on the floor. Everyone saw, even Louie, who had the hostess usher the woman into the ladies room with a glass of club soda to help clean her once perfect dress. Oy vey I nearly had a heart attack. Lou was serious while they were still there, but once everyone left he busted my balls pretty good lol. I remember Lou as a great guy, funny/great sense of humor, fair and payed people very well...and arms the size of Lou Ferrigno. He had to have custom tailored shirts and jackets made for him because of his arms and chest size. When I first saw his BOP pics I couldn't believe it was him, but he was smiling in the photo I saw, which is unusual for a BOP inmate photo, which helped me recognize his face.
That was the last job I had before I embarked on my wonderful, illustrious career as a sanitation engineer/owner. I should've stayed in the restaurant business!!

I still don't know how he got hooked up with the Genovese mob as such a young age. He certainly didn't come up the hard way. He grew up upper middle class went to Delbarton Private HS. His step sister is married to John Lynch former power broker. None of his brothers are remotely involved in wiseguy stuff. And again.. He was VERY young ! I know they nailed him on Tax Evasion because they couldn't nail him on all the kilos he was moving weekly(which is supposedly how he got so wealthy so young. Mansion in Holmdel, Multiple Clubs etc). I assumed he was involved with Vincent Ravo who was the Genovese guy in NJ when it came to bars and Restaurants. But I am not sure about that either. Not allot of info out there as to how he got hooked up with a Genovese Crew.
