One of my favorite past times is going through old forums and seeing what people speculated at the time and what crazy theories they made up. I was going through a old Genovese thread on gangsterbb and there was a comment on how certain guys where trying to rebuild their families and which guys where doing a good job. Granted it was also speculation but the names I saw where Bellomo,Cali and Crea then you had the other bosses Mancuso and Persico

Cali-Whacked by his nieces boyfriend

Crea- life for the Meldish murder

Persico- old senile man that singlehandedly shot the Colombo’s multiple times in the foot

Muncuso- crazy wife killer and knowing the bonnano family he will end up violating his parole and get 5 yrs for it and then after that go away forever when a capo flips

I wonder what goes through Bellomos mind seeing all the other bosses get taken out one by one. Nowadays he if he continues the trend of bosses he might get a life bid or hit the jackpot and die a free man. I’ve always wondered what these bosses think when they see everyone go around them. Must be hell but this is the life they chose

Well its only been Crea thats gone down and he wasnt the boss, but Madonna went down, he was acting or former acting. I guess if he stays away from a rat capo, doesnt order murders and stays away from his nieces boyfriend, he stands a chance .

Bellomo has seen plenty of bosses die in prison, which is why he is so cautious. I think every boss will be more hesitant than ever to order murders after the Lucchese fiasco.

Calì was killed by a fool that was loved the Cali niece but her was afraid of him. So he shot Cali for avoid to be killed.
The Genovese family adopted the ruling panel so there are never the same man that go to the meeting with other families or at the family weddings etc so the feds dont know whos the real boss and can't made a RICO case.

I think that are useless to compare the Genoveses with the other families given that in the 1980s they had a Chin Gigante when the other families had a Gotti,a Casso and Amuso or internal war.

an interesting take on the 3 or 5 man ruling panels that constantly revolvoe is back in 2003 felix transgese travels to the bronx with a paper from a pre sentencing report of emilio fusco. he meets with artie nigro who he thinks is acting boss but im thinking he wasnt just rather a conduit. they go to a steak house, felix bring the paper to a table of a few made guys and artie tells him to go outside. the guys looked over the paper work, nigro brings it back outside and tells felix al bruno got to go. safe to assume the guys at the table made the decision to whack al bruno and the only one who got convicted of it was artie nigro for bascially just relaying the message to the springfield guys bruno got to go. did nigro order the murder i dont think so but he went down. im betting all the bosses looked at that case. shit crea got life and he didnt even say a thing....

A high ranking mobster (a gambino if I remember well) was tape complaining that with the Genoveses was impossibile to understand who is the boss because everytime there are a new face at the meeting.

I think barney is well insulated and doesn't really do anything illegal nowadays. Just my opinion.
