Philly Inspiration on Sopranos
I know this should be in the tv section or whatever, but with the number of Philly experts on here....
Anyway, in David Chase's interview with Peter Bogdanovich, he mentions he read about a past boss of Philadelphia who had a difficult grandmother. Any idea who this might be?
As a side note: any Philly shoutouts in the series outside of "Philadelphia's been putting pressure on the shy business since Moses wore short pants"?

It was Scarfo. Both his mother and grandmother were tough women. The line in the show when Tony says 'If you'd been born after those feminists, you woulda been the real gangster.' was tied to something he had read about Scarfo's mother that described her as a 'stone gangster'.

It's a new morning in America... fresh, vital. The old cynicism is gone. We have faith in our leaders. We're optimistic as to what becomes of it all. It really boils down to our ability to accept. We don't need pessimism. There are no limits.

Yeah, I did a double take at the date posted to make sure this wasn't an old thread that got bumped. Great to see you back, eboli.
