Charlie White
Has anyone heard about Charlie White Iannece kissing Scarfo Sr on the cheek in prison shortly before the attempted hit on Scarfo Jr?
I read an article that says Charlie White was a suspect behind the hit on Jr because of a kiss of death. I know that Joey was the real person behind it, but found this article interesting.

Re: Charlie White
It's not a reference to Charlie White, it's a reference to one of his sons, Charles 'Chaz' Iannece Jr. The 'kiss of death' would have been given by Iannece Jr to Scarfo Jr. Charlie White didn't kiss the elder Scarfo in prison.

Got it. Didn't realize Chaz was the son. Is Chaz still active?

He was caught in 2008 for possession and intent to sell of 6.6 milions of meth, the operation was called Operation Broken Dolls because mexican meth was hidden in porcelan dolls and shipted from Mexico to California and in philly.
I didnt find his name in inmate locatore or Pennsylvania inmate locator,so maybe is free.

Vincent Iannece is sometimes listed on forums as made but I haven't found anything to confirm that

Re: Charlie White
Haven't found a source to back up Iannece's presence at that ceremony. There's an April 2001 Daily News article written by Kitty Caparella that says Natale testified that the made guys present at his ceremony (in addition to Merlino) were Mazzone, Borgesi, Angelina and Lancellotti. No mention of Iannece. In April 1995, George Anastasia reported that Mazzone and "three or four other young Merlino associates" had been inducted. In November 1995, Caparella reported that members inducted within the past year included Lancellotti, Borgesi, Angelina and "others". The "others" could be a reference to Iannece or someone else we don't know about or it could very well also be a reference to the Ralph Natale/ Frank Gambino ceremony.
One day I'd like to get my hands on the transcripts of Natale's testimony from that 2001 trial or his full 302s. Would be interesting to look out for any details on induction ceremonies or additional members. Based on the timeline it would appear that Merlino inducted Mazzone, Borgesi, Angelina and Lancellotti following his November 1994 release from prison and then very soon afterwards held a ceremony to induct Natale and Gambino.
On another note, Merlino, Natale and Michael Ciancaglini wanted to make Mazzone after the Felix Bocchino murder, which is interesting because Merlino and Ciancaglini were not made until several months after that (back when they were planning on making themselves if Stanfa didn't straighten them out). Though I think it's more likely that Mazzone would be made with Angelina, Borgesi and Lancellotti, I wouldn't be surprised if Merlino held a ceremony during the war to straighten Mazzone out. He was the number two man in that faction following Ciancaglini's death and was left in charge on the street after Merlino was jailed for parole violation (being above confirmed members like Lucibello and Turchi). Merlino has often played fast and loose with protocol, so it wouldn't surprise me if he wanted to make someone himself while Stanfa was still on the street.

Re: Charlie White
Some more stuff I have on the Iannece brothers:
Vincent Iannece washed out the van that was used to dispose of Salvatore Testa’s body in 1984. He was originally charged with participation in that murder though he insisted he had no idea what the van had been used for and the charges were dropped.
On 13 March 1992, Iannece had dinner with James Diaddorio at Torano’s restaurant at 11th and Christian, with Diaddorio later shooting at manager Mario Ferrari, the son-in-law of Raymond Martorano.
Sergio Battaglia told authorities that Gaetano Scafidi had admitted plotting the murder of Diaddorio with Iannece, Merlino and Michael Ciancaglini, with Ciancaglini being the shooter.
It should be noted, however, that when Scafidi plead guilty to the Diaddorio murder he only implicated Ciancaglini, Merlino, Angelina, Borgesi and Lancellotti, saying that Angelina and Lancellotti were the shooters, with Borgesi being the getaway driver, while he (Scafidi) was a blocker.
In 1992, a Daily News article quoted the Iannece brothers’ mother Rose as saying, “My sons, they don’t want to wind up like their father”, while another source said that Vincent wanted to be in the mob, though it would break his mother’s heart.
In March 1994, Battaglia, Herbert Keller and John Casasanto met with Mazzone, Lancellotti and Iannece on Sansome Street and offered to kill John Stanfa for them because they were sick of the war.
In November 1994, Iannece and Michael Brennan were involved in a brawl with another unidentified man in a bar and were charged with assault. Iannece and Brennan posted $2,500 bail each and were released. Brennan was then found shot to death a month later. Investigators identified Iannece and Brennan as Merlino underlings and were pursuing information that Brennan was dating the sister of “a high-ranking member of the Merlino family”. Brennan was Gaeton Lucibello’s neighbour and warned him during the Stanfa war that “strange faces” were looking for him. Rosario Bellocchi testified that Brennan was an associate of Lucibello’s and participated in a 1993 planning session about killing members of the Merlino faction.
Charles Iannece Jr started working as a roofer and kept a low-profile following the attempted murder of the younger Nicky Scarfo. In December 2003, he was arrested after his girlfriend phoned the police to report that he had assaulted her following a heated argument. Detectives found $3,123, five handguns, a rifle, and seven grams of meth when they searched the couple’s apartment on 10th Street. Iannece was then charged with assault, gun, and drug charges.
