It was a major issue leading into the federal case against the Mafia Cops Eppolito and Caraccapa. They didn't have any evidence that the cops had any connection to any LCN figures for well over the 5 year limit they need for RICO. But luckily for the feds there was some kind of shenanigans these now-retired crooked pigs had gotten into in Vegas a couple years prior (something to do with drugs I think? Can't remember exactly) so they were able to call them a 2 man crime enterprise that had been continuing since the 80s. If not for the Vegas deal the only way to go after the cops would be in state court for murder charges.JeremyTheJew wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 10:42 amThat was Gotti jnr defense.Hired_Goonz wrote: ↑Fri Nov 06, 2020 10:22 amI don't think it works that way with RICO. As long as they can show that you're still a part of the overall criminal conspiracy within the last 5 years, it doesn't matter how long ago you committed an individual crime that is listed as a predicate act. As an example look how they tried to nail Asaro for the Lufthansa heist more than 30 years after it happened.slimshady_007 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 05, 2020 10:04 am Regarding the Meldish assault, did the statue of limitations run out? Yeah, that was a stretch. Some kind of drug deal that Eppolito put together for a friend...definately unrelated to their Mafia cops caper and Caracappa's connection was specious. That said, I don't think anybody cared because those guys were such scumbags.

And then the movie making business was his new thing. He was like extort a FBI snitch that was trying to keep them relevant basically bc ig ppl knew they got away with stuff from the John Gambino reports etc etc
Eppolitto brought himself down.... with his book he literally dragged himself back in with his photos of him and his partner.
HANG IT UP NICKY. ITS TIME TO GO HOME.

Lukes are down hard right now looking like they are absurdly 4rth family now. Bonnaroo prob have twice as many men on the street. Joe Saunders and them need brought off the shelf...Bonnaroo have been trending up in my opinion and there are counts of possibly being 160 made men....

Re: Mike vs Mike
I agree.. They are very quiet now and wont speak with just anyone even some associates. I know of little guys giving them headaches on a small scale and they just let these guys get away with it so as to not expose themselves on something.
Re: Mike vs Mike
Its funny 3 of the 5 families may be lead by someone named Michael.

Not sure where those counts are coming from.Mason_dixon wrote: ↑Sat Nov 07, 2020 5:44 amBonnaroo have been trending up in my opinion and there are counts of possibly being 160 made men....

Even if that is true and the count is accurate, the Luccheses have always been traditionally very small. I think that if anything's hurt them more than general attrition and rats, loss of members, etc. - it's the sheer loss of rackets due to how much the world has changed. They were always small in numbers but had a stranglehold on the most quality of rackets in my opinion. Top leaders in drugs, garments, trucking, the airport, etc. I always saw them as the small, stable, serious "money" family - but now if they're out there fighting over the same dollar as everyone else, combined with their recent admin switch up, low membership count, etc. than that can't be good for them.Mason_dixon wrote: ↑Sat Nov 07, 2020 5:44 am Lukes are down hard right now looking like they are absurdly 4rth family now. The family doesn’t have that many crews, compared to the Bonannos. However the Lukes for sure have a bigger presence in Jersey. Besides Joe Sammartino’s crew I dont think there’s any other Bonanno crew in Nj.furiofromnaples wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 10:02 amDepens on the rackets, the Lukes had a strong presence also in NJ.slimshady_007 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 05, 2020 9:10 am Mancuso. Anyone know how many Bonanno made guys there are in Jersey?

Re: Mike vs Mike
What makes you think the Bonannos have significantly more crews than the Luccheses at this point? They don't have 15 crews anymore. It's not 2001.slimshady_007 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 10, 2021 8:21 pmThe family doesn’t have that many crews, compared to the Bonannos. However the Lukes for sure have a bigger presence in Jersey. And I don't think there's even a Bonanno crew based in Jersey now. The Sammartino indictment was well over a decade ago. More recently, in 2019, it was reported two of the New York families "operate in the state" - which I took to mean have crew(s) based there - while the Gambinos and Bonannos had "recent ties" to New Jersey.

Re: Mike vs Mike
Maybe it’s a case of too many capos too little soldiers?
Or maybe it’s the case they make everybody in the bonnanos and that’s why they have the crews? Didn’t some guy that flipped recently say he paid 10k to be inducted it probably ain’t hard to get made in the bonnanos lol
